After several weeks of appointments with Dr. James, I’ve been amazed with the accupuncture experience. It’s helped with my TMJ issues and shoulder tension. I’ve also seen tremendous improvements with my stress levels, sleep, and digestive health. The treatments are also incredibly relaxing. I always look forward to the next session. :)

Very lucky to have been sent here. Total hidden gem, location is easy to get to; parking is always available (off street). Upon entering Birdsong always greeted professionally and with a smile by Sakiko everytime. (It’s a lower level so perfect for anyone who is suffering from injuries no stairs to climb) The cleanliness of the place is exceptional spotless, the treatment room is relaxing and well organized. The treating Dr James is second to none and a master as his craft, James always engages right away prior to any treatment, how you doing, how you feeling with a caring/willing to treat personality and listens to your concerns, complains or questions. While receiving acupuncture treatemnt they provide you with a call button if needed but you’re so relaxed by the treatment and the room of the environment you usually fade away in relaxation and snooze. Upon completion of appointments it’s very easy to get another one, never have an issues and booked the following week with no issues and very accommodating on your schedule and time you have available. They work with the Veterans Affairs Hospital for treatement approvals who approve and pays for veterans treatments deemed medically necessary and have provided me quite a bit of manageable relief from injuries sustained from service, especially if you’re subject to PACT ACT issues having exposurer, or Middle East Presumptive issues (migraines, unexplained muscle, joint and body pain, fibromyalgia, jaw pain, teeth grinding/TMJ)

Dr James is extremely thoughtful and kind in his approach. He is very knowledgeable and experienced in acupuncture and takes all the time you need when telling your story and does it without hesitation or judgement. Can’t wait for my next session.

James has treated me during 5 months of chemotherapy. Treatment has mitigated all the debilitating side-effects of chemo. It has helped me relax and given me peace of mind. As a patient with past positive but unremarkable experience with acupuncture, I was surprised at the immediate and clear efficacy of James Shelton's treatment. Though I am seeking alleviation of some chronic symptoms for quite serious health conditions, I was surprised at the immediate relief for both symptomatic and chronic conditions after my first visit. On a broader level, I found that I was able to sleep much more deeply than usual on the nights following my treatment, despite heavier than usual physical work and job-related stress. Because the practice is located in a building on a sloping site, the treatment rooms to the rear of the facility are located in what is effectively a semi-basement, creating a very calm and dark environment for acupuncture. There is a music school in the same small building, but any noticeable sounds from that business are negligible and pleasing to the ear. James does moxibustion, cupping and guasha - I also found the latter two treatment modalities to be effective and pleasant. I should also mention that I have in the past found acupuncture to be unattractive because of my fear of needles, but James' very calm and soothing approach makes it easy to focus upon breathing and relaxation during treatment sessions.

Such care and love everywhere in the clinic.. Dr.Shelton’s treatment is on point and is simply wonderful.
