I'd give him zero stars, if I could. He was my endocrinologist for several years. He was chronically late for appointments. One time, I waited over 1.5 hrs for my appointment. When I was finally taken into a room, I could hear him having a 5 minute casual/personal conversation with someone in the hallway. When I complained, he essentially told me that he was dropping me as a client. I was pregnant at the time and needed to see an endo each trimester. He didn't care.

My experience with Charles Kahn was some years ago, but his mistake was so huge, I wanted to add it. Basically, I had a sudden onset of severe headaches that continued for 9 months wsithout a CAT scan being ordered. When I complaiuned of a neurological symptom, he ordered an EEG. He called with the results on a Friday afternoon. When I called him back, he would not talk to me and I was told to wait for the mail on Monday when I learned the EEG was adnormal. I immediately changed doctors, had a cat scan which showed I had a benign brain tumor the size of an orange which was surgically removed successfully the next week. I wrote him a letter complaining of being treated as a hypochrondriac when I had a serious problem and HE was annoyed. He never apologised. He is very smooth, always telling me what an intelligent patient I was while not speaking to me about having A1C results of 10 and 11(normal 5-6). Maybe he has since educated himself but I found his niceness to be a front.

Very professional, knowledgeable, focused and compassionate at the same time. Great communication and respect for the patient. I feel like I'm his only patient. Absolutely wonderful!
