David J Mysels's Online Review Report Card

From the very first visit with Dr. Mysels, I did not feel comfortable at all. The remarks he made to me when trying to explain how I had been feeling were highly unprofessional. The subsequent visits were rushed and uninformed. If you are seeking help with mental illness, this is the last doctor you should be seeing.

Dr. Mysels uses "I do not do talk therapy" as an excuse to not explore symptoms and their causality. I saw him every month for 4 years, he made a change to my medications 95% of my sessions. Did not take into account the work I do with my therapist, and the changes in affect that might cause. If all you need is 5 mg of paxil prescribed every 3 months, Dr. Mysels is a great doctor. If you are trying to heal, I would avoid.

I have been to dr . David Mysel. He is one of the worst doctors I have gone to. He treated me like a piece of bad furnature. I have been very ill for many years. Was sent to him by my primary. He was so cruel, not caring for my health. He caused me to have severe medical problems do to his lack of knowldge in weaning a patient from medications prescribed to me by other physicians. I am now in severe pain and unable to walk because of his judgement. I would never refer him to anyone...

Nasty attitude, very poor bedside manner!!!

This doctor is dangerous and negligent and he failed to notify me about a serious drug interaction. Thankfully I am okay, but I plan to file a formal complaint. He should absolutely not be in practice.

this doctor is the worst I've ever experienced and he is in the mental health field. this field as a doctor should require some sense of empathy or compassion for the patient or their family. he belittled, talked over, talked down to, said the most inappropriate things in the most inappropriate time. he neither asked or ever wanted anyone to interfere with his plan, this man is a serous threat to sick people and his patients and other people need to know this. after 37 days with this monster. daily treating the patient and family with nothing but disrespect, mal practice, using the patients as guinea pigs, pulling them off medicine they have been on for over 18 years, (not tapering off just stopping it). becuase he thought the patient was on drugs..... this patient has not been on drugs in over 5 years. had the audacity to say that someone slipped him black molly in a hospital that is under lock down. this guy is a disgrace to not only doctors but humans... you'd get better care from a Russian mobster. please if you care for yourself and your patient. please i beg of you dont go to this horrible poor excuse for a man. ohh by the way after him ridiculing us while my son was in thier, he also falsy quoted many many conversations.

Definitely please please please, do not go to this Dr, i don't even know where to begin, he has the worst human communication skills ever observed. very pompous, rude, and down right extremely mean. the harm he does to his patients & their families is unapproachable as a human not even as a doctor. he is causing so much damage to so many very sick people. someone needs to investigate this horrible ...

This psychiatrist cannot correctly evaluate the suicide risk of his patients. Patient said if he discharged him he would commit suicide by jumping off a bridge. And he did.

Since I have a hearing with the SSA next week, I wanted to visit Dr. Mysels since my original Psychiatrist wasn't taking my medical insurance a few months ago and needed to see someone before the hearing. After today's appointment, I felt that he was no help and at times the arguments were heated. This guy questioned me on why I was applying for SSI/SSDI and said I had no case and tried to put things in my head. I mean why would he say that when my original psychiatrist, attorney, and LMHC said I had a higher chance of getting benefits? This guy is a waste of skin and now that my original psychiatrist is taking my health insurance again, I will be going back to her. Meanwhile, avoid going to Dr. Mysels.

Dr. Mysels has the bedside manner of a wet salamander (and that's being quite generous). Exhibited zero compassion, understanding or caring. Demonstrated no critical thinking beyond the rigid box of psychiatry. I don't care how many degrees and honors someone has on their wall, if you can't interact with humans in need (which is why we need a psychiatrist in the first place), you shouldn't be in practice. My lasting impression was that of a cold, aloof man who doesn't care.
