Sent an elder relative here for allergy testing as she complained of skin / contact rashes and had a history of breakouts in relation to exposure to certain substances. The staff here at this location wouldn't even perform a simple allergy test and charged the insurance an exorbitant fee just to do nothing. In addition the front desk staff is rude and incoherent. Find another doctor that is intent on getting results and not just lining their pockets!
Dr. Settipane is very thorough and much more professional than other allergists I have seen in the past. He will not do testing unless warranted by evidence. If you want an allergist who is knowledgeable about current medical research relevant to the field, he is the doctor you want.
He is the most amazing specialist I have met , he diagnosed my condition in a jiffy , I had been 2 other Dermatologists who were flummoxed by my condition, I picked this skin disease overseas, he diagnosed it promptly and put me on a medication and I was cured! I had suffered for 3 months .previously So Thank - you for ever .
Dr. Settipane was extremely thorough and took the time to sit and discuss my medical situation at length. I found him to be very knowledgeable in all aspects of the allergy field. In my particular case, he was able to identify one of the regiment meds I was taking as a potential risk for future anaphylactic reactions. I highly recommend him if you are experiencing an allergy related affliction.
Worst experience I’ve ever had at any medical professional office. The staff was nice but not informative . I waited an hour and 45 minutes before i even saw the doctor and spent a total of 2 1/2 hours at the office . They wanted me to pay before billing to insurance , and no not a standard copay. You are NOT told this before appointment is scheduled , or when you are checked in. The nurse who me ...
One of the worst experiences I've had at a medical professionals office. I was seen at the East Providence office. Woman who checked my temperature at the door was very sweet. I sat down to fill out paperwork and was brought into a room within 5 minutes which was great. The nurse had me fill out paperwork and she was very nice. She brought paper work to front desk and came back and explained with my insurance i still had remaining deductible so I may end up having to a bill $300-500 depending how many tests are done after insurance. I was never told that i would be responsible for any payment that day. Which wouldn't be typical of any doctors office except for your standard $20-30 copay. Now my appointment was at 3 pm and the doctor did not come into the room until 4:45pm. Then he sat with me and asked some question and was nice and then sent nurse in to do testing . I did testing , then doctor came back in and walked me to front desk a little after 5:30. So i had been at the office now for 2 1/2 hours. So when i get to the front desk I'm told i owe $195 for the visit. Never in all the years of so many doctors appointments, having two babies , specialists, and allergy appointments for myself , husband and children have i ever heard of such a thing. I was never told over the phone when i asked if they were in network with my insurance that i would owe anything at appointment. When i checked in with front desk i was never told, when nurse reviewed deductible with me she never said u will owe this today at your visit . She told me about the deductible and how it hasn't been met which is standard ok and it hasn't been met with any appointments I've had all year and never is any money due at appointment without being billed to insurance first. I also know this first hand because i worked in dental billing for 5 years. So to be expected when walking out to owe such a high amount at an appointment and then being made out that it was told to me when it was never explained. I would have never booked appointment and i would have never had testing done if that was the case. With an hour and 45 minutes of waiting before seeing a doctor u would think u would be fully explained that you would be expected to pay something that was not a copay. I will not be going back or recommending this office.
Dr. Settipane has been a Lifesaver for Me ! Having Asthma/ Copd in my 50's ..... He has My Breathing SO Well Controlled - I'm Living My Best Life !! AND ..... I Can't Say Enough About the "AWESOME STAFF" that work in his Office. You Are Treated as Family !
After feeling not helped or heard by specialists in Boston for months, Dr. Settipane was a breath of fresh air. He was a wealth of knowledge on studies related to my difficult Chronic Hives diagnosis and he sat down and took time with me to explain things in a way that I appreciated tremendously. His combination of compassion and knowledge were just what I needed after months of disabling symptoms. I would highly recommend him.

If I could give this place less than 1 star then I would. First off I paid a $30 co pay and waited an hour just to be told by the doctor “I have 30 new patients every day who say the same thing” and be prescribed CLARATIN for my angiodema and hives. My lip has been swollen 6 times in one month up to my nose, the least they could’ve done is give me an allergy test. Said “it could last however long” laughs then says “bet that’s not what you want to hear.” Last but not least I got a letter in the mail with another appointment date, so I assume maybe they want to give me a test. I call and the woman is rude as hell. I couldn’t even finish my sentence without being interrupted. Was told no appointment existed and then was hung up on when trying to explain. Waste of time, waste of money. Complete disregard for patients and their health. Pharmacies profit off of places like this who are quick to prescribe you 5 drugs and throw you aside before they even consider finding the trigger. Disgusting.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
