List of Stephen M. Scott's Reviews
We have been patients of Dr. Steven Scott, for over 20 years. He is personable and explains medical terms to you, especially because many of us do not understand all medical terminology. Ashly is wonderful. She works in the office/blood results, etc. She is very personable and cares about the patients. When you call, she gets right back to you.
Excellent Physician! Dr. Scott has been my Primary Care Physician for 20 years. His diagnosis and treatment have always been spot on. He always takes the time to listen to me and has always been very considerate. I have multiple medical conditions and his assessments and treatment are always helpful. I recently contracted Covid-19 and he was able to arrange for the treatment I needed, avoiding complications. I can't thank him enough for his help.
Dr. Stephen Scott, is the best MD in Rhode Island! I have been a patient of his for nearly 22 years. I have suggested that he teach other Doctors "bedside Manner", as many in the medical profession do not have a warm personality, in dealing with patients who are nervous, anxious, or not feeling well. Dr. Scott not only is knowledgeable of his profession, but has that wonderful, warm personality to ...
He has been my Primary Care Physician for 5+ year and has not disappointed me and has won over my wife (a tough thing to do)! All his referrals have been spot on and his diagnoses stand at 100%
I was a patient of Dr. Scott for several years in the early 2000s.He was wonderful with me.He's extremely knowledgable and easy to talk to.I left him because of my very elderly parents. My father had vascular dementia secondary to a CVA post endarterectomy. He was still a feisty and proud man VERY aware of his deficits.EVERY time I'd take my dad in for a visit,Dr. Scott would administer the Mini-Mental exam.OF COURSE MY FATHER FAILED! He had had a massive temporal lobe CVA which caused impairments in his auditory comprehension and reasoning. Each time I'd take my dad for a f/u,Dr. Scott let some unwitting student/resident administer the SAME mini-mental exam(while chuckling). It was humiliating for my father, though he was unable to communicate his thoughts in such a pressured situation. He did the same with my very elderly mom (late 80s).We left the practice, which was a shame, due to his demeaning behavior.Let this be a lesson to those who follow. The elderly still have pride. Respect that.
Patient for 15+ years. Moved offices and lost all of my medical records. No longer a patient.
My husband and I have been with Dr. Stephen Scott for over 10 years. We Love him. He takes alot of time to listen to us. Excellent on getting to the bottom of our health issues. Very thorough. He's the ONLY Dr. we really trust with our health, REALLY. Would NOT see anyone else. If you want a Great Dr. In Every Capacity, it's Dr. STEPHEN SCOTT at University Medicine in Warwick, RI. Recommended highly. Would & have referred friends & Family to him.
Dr. Scott is a great! University Medicine is lucky to have him. New to the area, I scheduled a new patient appt w/him. He spent no less than 45 mins w/ me & get this...he actually talked to & listened to me! I was well during that visit but ironically caught a bug w/in the week & ended up seeing him again during Sat off hrs when he was on-call. Same great care! He is methodical and deliberate in his assessment and prescription of meds. He cured in 1 visit what 3 visits to urgent care could not.
Wonderful and loyal Dr. Went to him for almost 12 years. Staff degrading and rude. That is the only reason I left
Dr. Scott is always extremely receptive and respectful about my opinion on my own care. He is my favorite doctor by far and I've had bad experiences at other offices that have caused me to pull my records. He spends a good amount of time with each patient so he can tend to run over, but I just adjust my plans to account for the extra time so it doesn't usually bother me that much. I will say that sometimes his staff is a little brief on the phone, but I think its honestly just because they're so busy. When you chat a little with them, they warm right up.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
