Dr. Ruenger was thorough in his examination, answered my questions and dealt quickly with a minor problem I had. I was impressed enough to make my 1 year appointment with him. I have, in the past, had a squamous cell carcinoma and a basal cell carcinoma removed, so I take my skin health seriously. He also spoke with me about avoiding harmful sun exposure, an important step toward future avoidance of skin cancers. My late morning appointment was on time.

Dr. Ruenger was very personable, thorough and thoughtful. I found him to be very knowledgeable and he had a great, patient manner. I had no problem getting an appointment and he did not make me feel rushed at all. He answered all of my questions with concern and patience.

This doctor was on the cell phone in the exam room next to mine where i waited for him for an hour an a half to be seen from 2pm to 3:30 pm, he was heard by me talking about work unrelated stuff. There was a line of people in the waiting room. I got up got dressed and left without seeing him.

I have had Dr. Ruenger for over 10 years. He started to really annoy me. I asked for a prescription that I had been on for years and he refused to write it out and yes he was the prescriber. He has an "high horse" attitude. The other issue is when they call you from the waiting room just to sit in a cold, quite, bright, small enclosured room for 30 min to an hour. I was quit fine waiting with the other patients and watching television to he was really ready to see me.

Don't get me wrong. Dr. Ruenger is a great dermatologist and very knowledgable on my disease in particular, but I have had to walk out on my appointment several times due to punctuality. I have waited over an hour two or three times, and it is due to booking several patients for the same appointment time. Also, the billing department at BMC is horrible. They send me billings 4 months after the date of service and then call me asking why I haven't paid it! Because I just got it!!! Also, the billing department is incredibly rude on the phone and has continually made me feel like I'm an idiot. Although Ruenger is an ok doctor, save yourself the hassle of all the other issues you'll encounter. I have since discontinued going to this doctor.
