List of John T Irwin's Reviews
The best. Caring and professional. He gave me my legs and my life back.
If you want to visit a physician offering exemplary service with an exceptional staff Dr. Irwin is your choice. A patient does not feel like a “number” which I have experienced with other orthopedic offices in the area.

Absolutely Terrible. Anyone but him would be a better recommendation if you want help go elsewhere.
Dr. Irwin is a CLOWN. I'm going to copy and paste the earlier review I posted about my experience with him at The Woman's Hospital of Texas. This review is extremely overdue, but its time has finally come. I was recently retelling the story of how my scheduled tubal ligation at this hospital was cancelled against my wishes. I had mentioned that the Chief of Surgery, Dr. Irwin, had many bad reviews (particularly on healthgrades.com.) When I checked that page again, it appeared that many of the reviews had been erased. On to the story....In 2015, I was 22 years old and my doctor had approved me for a tubal ligation. I have many medical conditions that make pregnancy unsuitable for me, including a rare heart condition, ADHD, pervasive family history of cancer, and a high genetic risk of schizophrenia. Plus I just do not want the hassle of raising kids, ever. I have five younger siblings and I have seen it all and it does not interest me, period. I showed up at The Woman's Hospital of Texas on 4/20/15 and was prepped for surgery. They had the IV in my arm and I was waiting on the anesthesia so I could be wheeled to the OR. After about 30 minutes had passed, I was informed that the staff had thrown a bitch fit because of my age and I would have to obtain permission from a psychologist before I could reschedule my surgery. I was livid and spoke to Dr. Irwin on the phone, where he compared my desire to be sterilized to the rash actions of the Boston bomber. After going home and getting a letter from a licensed counselor I was able to reschedule the tubal as I'd been promised, but I had surgery at Fannin Surgicare and not at the Woman's Hospital. I am now approaching the 3-year anniversary of my procedure with no regrets at all, but I am still angry about the disgusting anti-choice attitude I encountered at the hands of Dr. Irwin and The Woman's Hospital of Texas. All I can say is AVOID this place at all costs. If you trust them to help you, they might just send you home. And your ability to trust will forever be broken.
Gentle kind and took the time to listen. Very experienced. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Irwin is awesome. He has a very busy schedule yet sits down to take the time to answer all your questions. Very down to earth and friendly. Great with high risk pregnancy as well as diagnosing cervical issues.
set me up for a surgery, went through the necessary pre certification for the surgery ay saint mary's. called me two days prior to surgery and gave me excuses that he had emergencies to attend to that would push my surgery date back 2-3 days. Never heard from him again even after leaving multiple messages.
I was to be a new patient. I arrived on time filled out all the forms had my insurance documentation, then waited one hour and forty minutes. No one said a word to me about delays, others arrived after me and were seen. When I asked for my x rays the nurse told me ivshe on hold on the phone. I told her I was on hold for 1 hour and 40 minutes. Rec'd my X-rays and left. No apology no call. Do not use this doctor.
I have been to Dr. Irwin for multiple problems and have always been impressed with his and his office staff's response and courtesy. He always gives you time and explains why you hurt. Can't say enough good things about him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
