Jo-Ann Macmillan's Online Review Report Card

I saw her in 1984 due to constant allergies and a raspy voice. She said that I had a polyp on my vocal cord and that nothing could be done about it. Never went back! Fast forward to 2008 and I had a non cancerous polyp removed the size of a small walnut. My ENT at the time said I had to have it removed and I had surgery within two weeks! She is incompetent and my ENT at the time asked me if I had ever seen anyone else regarding this and I mentioned that I had seen Dr McMillan and his immediate response was “ she’s still in business”?!

Very mean and grumpy wasnt nice or caring made me feel terrible your suppose to be caring and kind when people are sick or not feeling well she treats you like last weeks trash its heart breaking to see someone who is suppose to under dr law be compassionate and help get u on your way to feeling better ...she is kinda scary when she yells at you move over or turn your head she is very ruff and aggressive thought she was gonna rip me nose and throat apart :( cant ever gp back to someone who treats you sp badly when your health is not good to begin with. We go to get help and care not feel worse then we already did before we went there. The lady WHO signs you in was nice to me but the dr was scary and not trying to talk bad about anyone but u have to be caring and kind to people as a good dr should have to be....

Would give zero stars if I could. Dr. Mac Millan has zero patience even for well-behaved children. She is rude, condescending, and uses antiquated methods. I would highly recommend avoiding this ENT AT ALL COSTS! HAd her for my son's ear tubes, she was incredibly difficult, has zero compassion, and is extremely rude!

The dr herself is awfully rude, but her secretary is very pleasant.

This woman treated my husband for an emergency condition. I do not understand how this woman is still allowed to practice medicine. She is completely unprofessional and dangerously ignorant, and my husband almost died as a result. The experience was a complete nightmare. To top it off, months after his operation we received bizarre handwritten bills from her office for fake “follow up” visits that were never scheduled or attended. This woman is a fraud. Please seek care elsewhere!!

Misdiagnosed Mom and treated her for the wrong thing. Medications prescribed actually caused more problems. Stay away from this so-called doctor. She shouldn't have a license to practice and other doctors don't even know how she is still in practice. No wait time...didn't see any other patients at visits. That speaks volumes.

She is a grumpy older women. A bit rude. And definitely has something against overweight people. She told me my ears had fluid, and weren't draining because of my weight. Give me a break. The secretary wasn't very friendly either. I'm supposed to go back in a couple of weeks, I don't think so.

Unsanitary!!! Went in with my daughter. She used the same tool to look up my nose as hers. Never cleaned inbetween. We were horrified. Unprofessional!!!

Wise People say that first impressions when you meet a person for the first time can make a good or bad impact. Especially if you are a patient of a doctor that is supposed to help with what you are there to see the doctor for. I now regret to have made an appointment with Dr. Macmillan after our first session. The second she entered the room, her demeanor and personality was certainly not the best and greatest for a person and even for a doctor. She looked at me like I was a piece of garbage and her first question she asked me before starting had to do with where the origin of my last name is. She asked me about my life, if I am married?, Why I am not working? How do I support myself? Even though I tell people that I continue on searching for work, they still would not know how it is to be in my shoes. I then explained to her why I was there to see her but as I explained my issue, she did not believe or even understand my issue of my inflammed tonsils in my throat and that it blocks the passage in the back. She then proceeded to check for herself of my nose first and then my ear before beng disgusted of my psoriasis which is covered almost on most of my body. She aggressively told me I had better make an appointment with a dermatologist and lastly checked my throat for two seconds and diagnosed me with what I already knew. I told her that I went to see two different regular doctors for my issue and they prescribed me medication that did not work. She then asked me if other doctors or other people mention that I am obese to me and even though I wanted to be sarcastic, I sadly gave in to her stupidity and said yes. I already know the risks of going through any operation if you are obese but she has to do what her job tells her to do, she has to warn me of what could happen. I would not recommend to see her but if you like being treated like garbage, be my guest.

FAA medical - I would highly recommend avoiding this AME. Much better Doctors to go to. She's not a pilot for starters. She also uses antiquated methods for conducting a verrrryyyyy thorough medical evaluation and also pricey. If your an airline pilot I stress again avoid. I don't think she fully understands how important a first class medical is for all of us. Hope this helps.
