Joseph Guarnaccia Md's Online Review Report Card

I have been going to Dr. Guarnaccia for over over 16 years and have found him to be an excellent doctor. He is up on the latest research and listens to patient concerns - and I trust him explicitly. Would never want to see another MS neurologist.

This doctor keeps himself well-informed and says current on all the research. He applies what he knows to the patient's situation. He is extremely intelligent and has a hands-on approach. He has made my life more livable.

We are grateful to Dr. Joseph B. Guarnaccia, kind Beth, and all of the warm Employees are the Kent Hospital Neurology for their attention to my Mom and myself, in the midst of their busy schedules! Thank you for your kindness, and your time given to us!

Have been going to Dr Guarnaccia for 4 years now. He didnt shy away getting another MRI or more blood work for a correct diagnosis of MS. Had a Dr. at yale who didnt even want to look at my MRI results even though the radiologist put autoimmune disease. She told me I was too young.

worst experience with a dr ever. cancelled my meds after a misunderstanding with the office. refused to help in any way. many times i would show up for appointments and he would see pharma reps before patients. poor bedside manner. overall horrible experience

I was desperate for help after being hospitalized with MS at UConn medical center. After my release, the Neurologist I was assigned to then kept cancelling on me and her office staff would not schedule me for 8 to 10 weeks. After the second cancellation, I called and left a message for Cheryl, the Office Manager in Dr Guarnaccia's office., pleading for help. She returned my call the same day with an appointment later that same week. I sent my hospital records to them ahead of my appointment. Dr Guarnaccia took a lot of time with me reviewing my records and evaluating my condition, explaining everything as he went along. He put me on a treatment plan that got me well enough to return to work within 6 months. He totally turned my life around, from being afraid and badly depressed to being optimistic and well informed. While there is no cure for MS, Dr Guarnaccia has been a Godsend with his dedication to my wellbeing.

This top notch physician has kept me walking for 15 years. My family drives me from NH to RI whenever is needed. Short of a good gene pool :/ (which I do not have ; Mom,Sister & Grandmother all diagnosed with MS ; no longer with me) I have an after amazing Doctor whom I consider the best of the best! This is a physician who knows all the treatments and clinical trials to beat this SOB disease !!! My thanks, to Dr.Guarnaccia and Julie a terrific team!!

I have been a MS patient of Dr. Guarnaccia's for over ten years. I originally was diagnosed at Brigham and Women's MS center in Boston; and switched to Dr. Guarnaccia after one consult . I was given direction an explanation of which therapy would work best for me and why. Not just pick one as I had been advised at B&W in Boston . The compassion and intelligence of him and his staff is very reassuring on a disease that has a mind of its own.Looking at some reviews I see that people say he may be a bit stiff or too clinical, If you want a baby sitter go to day care. This physician knows his specialty . I have recommended him to countless people and we are all on the same page. Thank you, Dr. Guarnaccia.

I went to see this Doctor several times and he would always ask what I wanted as far as what meds to put me on. I was newly dealing with this illness and I was relying on my Dr. to help me to understand how and what meds were good that NEVER happen. He wrote several prescriptions for me but when I went to apply for my SSD they stated that this Dr. told them he didnt prescribe any thing thank god I kept a copy of my precrisptions so I didnt look like the lier and he did. I also recieved exspires meds from him that he gave me once cause I told him I couldnt the medicine he prescriped for another week. If I hadnt check the date who knows what might have happen. When I told him he took the meds back and didnt say much which is how he always communicated any way. Thank God I know longer see this Dr he really needs to go back and learn how to treat his patients it is a bed side manner he lose long ago....
