Dr. Joseph is the nicest MD! Personable, knowledgeable, really cares!

Pleasant man. Never sent the infusion order to the infusion center. The office staff said it takes 2 weeks to get it approved. My insurance says that that is incorrect. And they never sent the order to start the process anyway. This may be a mistake on the staff’s part, but if the staff doesn’t get it done, what good is it that the doctor told us that he requires an infusion? Not recommended.

My visit with Dr. Joseph was very amicable. The staff was also.

Dr. Joseph told us in 2018, for my elderly mother with erythrocytosis, he would review the labs every 4 months and contact us if abnormal. They were abnormal on 2/4/2020. Dr J said he never saw any labs in 2020. No calls! In July, "no need to be seen, he will follow labs." No labs since then. An order to her care facility was described as "illegible". For the sake of your health, stay way from this disorganized office.

Dr. Joseph is an excellent, caring physician. He answered all of my questions and made me feel at ease in a dire life threatening situation. He, his phlebotomy and his chemotherapy infusion team of nurses supported me with humor, great care and excellence. Together they provided the information, support and care that I needed to emerge from a most challenging situation with my life. While the secretarial/CNA office staff DEFINATELY needs to improve, the Nurses, Phlebotomy staff and Doctors, especially Dr. Joseph, are most competent and excellent with wonderful personalities. I highly recommend the medical staff at Hematology Oncology, especially Dr. Joseph.

Dr Joseph was incredibly unprofessional. Told us 6 months to live without treatment and died less than a week later . Went for appointment Dr. made for follow up and didn’t have results 11 days later. He seemed all about the money , Sad reality!!

We lost my dear Mom recently, and on my agenda once she passed was to write a review of her oncologist, Dr. Joseph, who was managing her care for the last 4 1/2 years, since she was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma. We ended up with Joseph during Mom's initial stay at RI Hospital--somehow this happened before we were able to "vet" him or even meet him. He was assigned to her and that was that. My Mom really liked him, which was odd because she was such a perfectionist all her life, so we put up with it by getting second opinions at Dana Farber when needed (Dr. Elizabeth Buchbinder--fantastic!!!). For the duration of her care, Joseph was only concerned with her tumor. There was virtually no action to care for the rest of her without us initiating it--her lack of energy, her weight loss, her total lack of appetite, her fatigue--we consulted with two nutritionists on our own (there's no nutritionist on staff or even as a consultant at his office even though these issues with cancer patients are extremely common). We researched and got him to prescribe several drugs that we thought would help her appetite. Again, at our initiative. Everything at our initiative. And his staff, with few exceptions (Jean) was dismissive and short. "Hematology, Oncology" is how they answer the phone, very brusquely, as if you are an interruption in their day. Even though the office opens at 9, the answering service will tell you that they don't pick up their phones until almost 10. You always have to ask who you are speaking with, as they do not identify themselves. When we went to the office (although I think this is changed now--I guess they thought better of it), you would find yourself in front of panes of opaque glass, so you could not see anyone behind it, again, as if you were an intrusion and not welcome. And they deal with cancer patients! A more hostile environment I've never seen for a doctor's office. Mom was bedridden for her last weeks, and Joseph never called to see how she was doing. This after almost 5 years of being a patient. Of course, we're not surprised. Please do yourself a favor and do not get involved with this practice.

Had breast cancer no more . Dr Joseph save my life. Thank you Dr Joseph, you and your family have a happy holiday.

It's extremely frustrating to wait over an hour for appointments in a cramped waiting room in full view of patients receiving treatment when dealing with a disease as difficult as cancer. Dr. Joseph takes time to answer queastions and explain if you are persistent, but the whole experience is damaged before you get into the office by the wait.
