List of Robert Salk's Reviews
First visit... I was excited. It seemed like he knew what was going on with me. After procedure was scheduled and completed. Come to find out that it wasn't my issue. Spoke to him on the phone asked about birth control/tubes tied and possibility of an oblation. He said nope... nothing in the world of gyn I can do for you. Fast forward to yesterday. I've had my period 5 times in 3 months. All 10+ days each cycle. 8-10 day break.. this time 20 days bleeding. Explained I had past problems with bleeding, was telling him about the other issues and possible diagnosis I've received thinking it may help with this situation. He literally told me I was all over the place. I said. Well... im letting u know what's going on. I told him I put in an IUD with fear I may get pregnant. He said.. why? Why?... why else would u insert an IUD? I SAID IMAGINE NOT KNOWING WHATS WRONG WITH YOU AND GETTING PREGNANT INBEWTWEEN IT ALL! (In tears) Oh... u did it for birth control? He asked... why else would I put an IUD IN? He told me that the copper causes more bleeding... I said funny cause I've had one 3 other times in my life and it never happened so we have to remove it... ooo... no, thats not what i said. Stop jumping to conclusions. He seems to like to be right the first time and if you second guess or offer info to state otherwise. He gets a bit bothered. Very dismissive. Bad bedside manner. Made me cry both times I went there. Just trying to finish my battery of tests so I can find another doctor. Seems like a decent surgeon but horrible office physician.
He is very dismissive. I went to him one time and I will never again.
Every time I consult Dr. Salk, I'm always made to feel comfortable and that my concerns are valid. He treats me with the utmost respect, and has been far gentler than a female OBGYN I had prior (I won't name her to be respectful). He even called me while on vacation to discuss my test results and set me up with a follow-up procedure right away. As for one of the comments from someone saying they were belittled for having their medical marijuana card, I personally have it and he has never once said anything negative about it. I would certainly take these negative reviews with a grain of salt.
The most insensitive doctor I’ve ever seen. Does not understand what women are going thru during menopause. Does not listen to your concerns or explain conditions well. Got one result from him one day and another result from him another day for the same ultrasound. Recommended a procedure to me after he asked if I had good insurance. Had a second opinion and I don’t need the procedure after all. Receptionist was rude, but his assistant was always nice and caring.
Was given to him when Dr.. Wortman left never agreed to him. Mammogram and ultrasound showed something. Condescending, rude, smug. Told me when I said I have no money, "don't you have savings? You are going to blow through that and co-pays. We will get a team together after my vacation." I hadn't even had a biopsy yet. Later calls and says after I told him I had biopsy" I don't care what Rhode island medical imagings director of radiology, breast wrote down on path report" (she suspects fibroadenoma). He is a monster and will never keep you at ease or calm. I am reporting him to dept of health.
Went to see him because my doctor was unavailable and its single handedly the worst experience I have ever had and I dont even want to return to see my normal doctor at that office now. He told me before even looking at my chart my issue was diabetes that i dont have. And refused to treat me unless I went on birth control even though I specifically told them i do not want birth control. I left that office in tears and feeling beyond unheard. Its also apparently a common occurrence with women. He shouldnt have a license to work with women. Hes a complete a joke. Also tried to talk about my financial situation and stated that I more than likely wouldnt be able to afford infertility treatments. And I accomplished nothing at that appointment besides making me feel like complete garbage.
AWFUL HIS THE WORST DOCTOR EVER

I've been a patient of Dr. Salk for about 4 years. He has always been extremely professional, kind, compassionate, informative and insightful. I appreciate the time he takes to answer any questions that I may have and would happily recommend him to anyone looking for a gyn/ob.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
