List of Royal Health Westerly's Reviews
I just want to say thank you so much to the activities director Rachel, for taking so much time in her day although it was busy, to connect my father and I. Being 2,000 mi away during this crisis is hard enough. Her diligent efforts and letting me show my father some love meant the world to me via a video chat. I just want to thank the whole staff for all their hard work! Caregiving is not easy, but when you have a good caregiving staff, it is very much appreciated by family and friends who wish they could do more for their family members. I can't thank you guys enough!
Royal Norwell will you all do anything about the nurse named Yvette that violated Covid travel restrictions to go be a part of an attack at the Capitol? Will you also do anything about the DON that received complaints about this said nurse bragging about going to patients prior to flying out and her response was "I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that"?
Great bunch of people that really care!
My name is Mary Gervasini. The Royal Health Group in Westerly, RI discriminates against patients that have dementia and are mobile. The director Nick, and nursing directors Lisa and Karen are NOT friendly and have zero compassion. I have been caring for my mom for 13 years. She declined after a knee replacement and I was no longer able to keep her independent at home. They have staff in the dementia unit (Heather- RN) that should not be there. I have been told by several staff members that Heather was not patient with my mother. I felt she had been exaggerating her behavior in the nurses notes. When I called a meeting to discuss this, I was told by the Nick, the administrator, that I should perhaps find another facility. They lie, the administrators lie, and they are all in it together. I feel bad for the workers that are honest and genuinely care for my mom, but absolutely will not send her back. My story will be heard, because the abuse my mom has been through is inhumane. I never had any intention of taking her out of the facility. I have been forced to take her out due to the lack of professionalism the head administrators have shown. Several staff members have expressed to me how disappointed they are to have seen her sent out to Fatima, as this matter could have absolutely been handled at the facility. I went as far as offering private help during my mother’s transition of medications. They refused Dr. Cass’s (The psych Dr. on property) recommendations against my will, and refused to work with me. I can only hope someone from the RI health dept. will investigate this in detail, as I am not only advocating for my mother but for all the other residents that can’t be heard. Please be warned.
Very caring staff and excellent patient care at The Royal.
My wonderful grandmother, at the age of 95, had to finally come to the truth that she needed more care than she had in her own home. She has lived here now for three years, and she is doing great! The staff are kind, careful, watchful, warm, funny, responsible, and professional. My grandma gets to participate in fun activities, like bingo, trivia contests, and excursions. She also has the skilled care she requires, from help to get to the bathroom, to having a doctor come through daily to check on any pressing medical needs, and nurses to administer medication. The tireless medical assistants help with so much, too, from helping her get around, to helping her get to a doctor's appointment.Although my grandma is not able to live in her own home, she does not regret the move to this great facility. Our family knows that my grandma is safe and happy.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
