List of Theresa S. Bishop's Reviews
I worked with Dr Bishop at Walter Reed. I considered her a friend and colleague but when I contacted her years later to help with a Veterans Disabilty claim I was stonewalled by her office for 47 days. It was so hard to believe as I had worked so closely with her at Walter Reed and did my best to protect her in the hostile work environment. After I retired from the Army I filed for disabilty and assumed she could help me with factual assessment of my claim. She acknowledged nothing and treated me as if I did not exist. Fortunately others that I worked with corraberated my claim and I finally did receive 100% disability award.
I worked with Dr Bishop at Walter Reed. I considered her a friend and colleague. After retirement from the Army I filed for disability claims and asked her for help with the claim. I even tried to schedule appointment with her but her office staff stonewalled me for 47 days. I finally gave up. Fortunately other colleagues gave corraborating statements for my claim and I did get a 100% VA disablity rating. She could have helped me with a simple one paragraph statement to support my claim. She treated me as if I did not exist. Something this egregious cannot go without consequence and that is why I have done this rating.
Yes i would recommend Dr Bishop to other people
Dr. Bishop is very competentprofessional ethical and compassionate. Dr. Bishop actually listens giving you quality time and develops a individual wellness plan involving psychiatric counseling and possible medications with a accurate diagnosis. She is very charming and has a friendly bed side manner. I was her patient for 15 years until I moved to another state .Then she was implementable in helping me find a new psychiatrist. But she is still unreplaceable.
Overall very poor. Seemed distracted. Wish I had read ratings on her from other rating services beforehand.
I was put to ease the first time I met her. I was referred by my ppo I went in feeling like I was going to the chopping block. Very nervous because I didnt know what to expect. Time I meet this tiny soft spoken doctor I knew I had found a safe place. I didnt have to face the stigmata the outside world place on someone with a mental illness. She finally got me on medications to help me. She usually saw me 30 mins a week but if I got there she didnt bother with how long it took she let me cry it
Dr. Bishop was ok but she left this practice Western Carolina Psychriatric. But WCPA is a nightmare. Keep away from this place The entire Self Regional system is poor for mental illness. If you have a problem head to another city.
These guys spend minimal time with the patient to truly understand what is hurting the patient. They are then quick with the labels. They ruined three years of my life. Fortunately I escaped psychiatry and have gone on to find healing and wholeness. Dont buy their expensive debilitating lies.
While I dont love the fact that I need to see a psychiatrist I feel reassured by Dr. Bishops expertise. She is a good listener and provides solid advice taking my concerns into appreciation. She clearly thinks about what is the best thing to do for my condition and is always open to address any questions I may have about treatment. You can tell the wheels are churning when she thinks of the patients best interests and I am grateful for that.
Cannot recommend this doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
