List of Curtis Elam's Reviews
I was having a bad reaction to birth control and I just wanted it switched. He said those symptoms aren't part of it and I said I looked it up and yes other women have experienced similar issues. He hit me on the head (lightly not hard but still rude and condescending and I should not be touched outside of examination) and laughed at me and said well if you're the doctor why do you need me. I don't. I have a new one and encourage everyone else to seek out a different one. He wasn't that way the first visit but seemed like he was showing off for the pretty student with him. He also told me I have pcos but going to a new doctor with the records she said he put down metabolic syndrome. My new doctor already removed a thick lining and established that normal birth control will lower my already low testosterone level. Horrible in practice and bedside manner. He treated a friend the same as me as well. Feel like good reviews for him were friends or girls he thought were pretty so he was nicer.

Discriminates against women. Refuses to treat them. Makes children cry from his awful words to their parents. And instead of canceling an appointment he will make you drive all the way to the office just to be severely rude and hateful to you and your spouse and tell you he wont treat you. That man gets off on making women uncomfortable and cry.
Medical discrimination at its finest.
Horrible, rude, uncaring, unprofessional. Basically threatened that my child would be taken away, said I was an unfit mother, refused to answer my questions about medication I should be taking in the 3rd trimester, said my baby "probably isn't growing right anyways" and told me he "doesn't care" about any of the research I've been doing outside of the Drs office. Heartless, soulless old man with absolutely no sense of respect and professionalism. Absolutely cannot stand him.
He was highly recommended to me by another of his patients, so I decided to check him out. Not only did I feel judged the entire time I was his patient, but he lied to me about procedures he was doing and why he was doing them. Not only is he just a terrible doctor, the hospital he practices at is also just as terrible. My suggestion is to find a better physician and hospital if you value your privacy and doctor/patient relationship, because you won't get either with him.
This doctor is a joke ,rude !!! He should be more worried why he is seeing his patient than their weight , otherwise he would have known I was NOT there for an CYST on the RIGHT OVARY it's on my left. Will get me a second opinion from a doctor who is truly concern about their patients
Very rude and pushy. Called me obese during my appointment and left there upset and I don't want to see him again and I only saw him once and that was enough for me.
Elam was my doctor in knoxville to. I credit him for discovering my medical condition that caused me to have 2 miscarriages. With his positivity I was able to have two separate healthy pregnancies!
O followed him from his practice. He was my ObGyn for 25 years. I had 3 live births & 1 miscarriage with him as my doctor. He loves to be fun & relaxed with patients. I wish he could be a primary doctor! Highly highly recommend! (And I HAVE FOR YEARS!)

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
