He saved my life. I'd been to at least 8 other doctors, multiple ER visits, no one listened. I finally got to see him. He sat across from me and asked me to tell him everything. I did. He wanted a blood workup and a couple of other tests but he called me when my bloodwork came back, he thought I had an autoimmune disorder, specifically, lupus SLE. He sent me to have it verified before he put it on my chart because I become uninsurable as soon as he noted my chart. But, he was my md for 18 years. I'm heartbroken that he retired.
Does not overload the patient by continuously requiring lab test. Seeks to clearly identify issue and address in a methodical and progressive manner. Builds health baseline and then follows troubling indices or lab results to ensure these potential health issues remain in check, ie BP. Has been my primary care physician for 15 years.
Dr Kopp is the sorriest doctor I've ever met. He refused to treat me and misdiagnosed my Crohns.
I was just reading a letter I turned up where Dr Kopp told me that I had IBS. I insisted to him and everyone else that I had endometriosis, which was later confirmed when a responsible doctor performed a laparoscopy. Women with endometriosis are routinely misdiagnosed by doctors who don't trust that we know our bodies and who don't feel like performing the appropriate exploratory/treatment surgery. As a result of his misdiagnosis, I spent several more years with crippling attacks of abdominal
As a result of his misdiagnosis, I spent several more years with crippling attacks of abdominal pain and nearly failed a semester of college. I can't directly attribute it to him, but those years certainly contributed to infertility. I also do not have IBS, as demonstrated by the fact that (now that my endometriosis has been treated) I can eat anything I want without any adverse gastrointestinal effects. Using IBS as a catch-all diagnosis is lazy and irresponsible.
I have been a patient of Dr Kopp for approximately 4 years. He is one of the most knowledgeable and comprehensive doctors I have ever met. I see him for a specific condition, but I wish I could see him for all ailments. He's straight to the point and thorough. He explains procedures and conditions very well. He gives his best educated advice. He is very helpful in all ways.
Dr. Kopp is by far the best Dr. I have ever been to! He actually takes time to listen to his patients and to explain things in terms that are understandable. I would recommend him to anyone who is interested in a level of care that is 2nd to none!!
Excellent, caring MD. Thorough & capable in every way.
Dr Kopp is one of the best doctors I have seen in a long time. He actually takes time and explains things in great detail to you and he actually listens to you. He and his staff are a wonderful group of people. Thank you so much for all that you did for me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
