Overall just bad man
In the beginning it was great. He helped me through some tough pain. I mis spoke once to a nurse and was dropped as a patient. I never abused my medication I had a good report with him and other PMs there. He let me down! Just threw me away. I was a shamed for no reason..That is not professional. He refused to discuss the issue. Its too bad I turned out to be a # when I thought I was a good patient.
Very nice doctor and staff! Helped control my back pain.
Horrible doctor that does not care about his patients
I have suffered pain in my lower back for years and have been through several doctors in Atlanta, GA. In April, 2020, I moved to Anderson, SC and had lower expectations since I had lived in the “big city” and they have the best or so I thought. I was in so much pain, that if I could have removed whatever nerve my bulging disc was hitting, I would have performed the surgery on myself! My PCP referred me to Dr. Patel and I told her to “set it up”. Needless to say, I was mistaken about my preconceived notions. The staff up front were awesome and so very helpful. She explained to me that unfortunately my insurance would not work. I’m not a wealthy man, but I was in so much pain that I paid for the procedure out of pocket. Dr. Patel saw me and I explained my history and he told me he needed to do a nerve block shot. He had allowed me to come in that day, even though he was booked and if I could stay there, that he would work me in to get my shot, which I was happy to do. They kept checking with me in the waiting room and I assured them that I would wait until the end of the day to get some relief. They prepped me for the shot and then Dr. Patel came in and the 1st thing he said was “I’m so sorry for your wait.” Compassion for me was 1st and foremost on his mind.........again, he had worked me into his already booked day because he knew what pain I was in. When he administered the shot, he explained every step of the way and as soon as that medicine hit my nerves, I had INSTANT relief!! I could have hugged him when I got up off the table!!! As soon as we are allowed to do that, I plan on giving hugs to every single person in that office and thank them for the compassion they showed to me that day. These people are awesome and I will NEVER go to anyone else as long as I live in this area. I’ve read some negative reviews and I can’t understand their experience with him because it is the TOTAL opposite of what I have experienced. We all have bad days............I know I do, especially if we are in pain. Constant pain just about drove me crazy, so I get it, but I just wanted to post this out here for anyone that is considering a Dr. for pain management. Go see for yourself and I don’t think you will be disappointed with the care you will receive from Dr. Patel and his staff. As far as I’m concerned, they are all exactly where they need to be because helping people is their priority. So, thank you Dr. Patel and the office that you have.............you are the BEST pain management doctor that I have ever seen in my entire life!! If I could give you 1000 stars on this review, I would!
Dr Patel has helped me with my back and all the ladies are great that works there .He is currently been doing nerve blocks which are helping .If you need a great doctor for pain he is one of the best.
Love it best dr. Ever
I wouldn't take my dog to Dr. Jay S. Patel because I love my dog to much. He spent maybe 3 minutes in the room with me & I wa there for 3+ hours. Then in the 3 minutes he spent with me in the exam room he decided to discontinue my pain medication that I have been on for almost a year, cold turkey. If possible go to another pain management doctor. You will not be happy with Dr. Jay S. Patel I guarantee you won't. He didn't even examine me & asked me nothing about my pain.
I wouldn't recommend Dr. Jay S. Patel to anyone. He doesn't care about his patients or that they're in pain. Run as far from this Doctor as you possibly can. There are much better Doctors in the pain management field than this one. He should go back to his own country & treat his own people
My experience with this provider was very negative! He is very impatient and unsympathetic to patient needs. He gives you the impression he is a Dr. for the mere money and not because he cares or listens to his patients what so ever. He is a pain specialist and not everyone is out for disability. There are people who are having extensive pain and want to get better and get back to their lives!! He will tell you "most people with this condition have no pain". Everyone is not the same!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
