Peter Bechtel's Online Review Report Card

I had laposcopic hernia surgery & kept telling him I couldn’t breathe. I finally went to another doctor. He sent me immediately to a specialist. I had to have lung surgery. So beware of this doctor!!!

I seen Dr Bechtel in 2020 for gallbladder surgery. I have had 13 surgeries and he is by far the best surgeon I have ever dealt with. I was super nervous the day of surgery and he stayed in the room and talked to me and was very reassuring. I never felt like he was trying to rush off or wasn’t concerned. He had the best bedside manners of any surgeon I have had. I am see him again for another surgery soon! Hands down would recommend him and in any case of future surgeries, I will choose him!

Very caring and attentive to patient needs. Would not hesitate to recommend Dr Bechtel to anyone.

Personally, I have never had a problem with Piedmont Surgical's office staff. I feel bad that Mr Boggs did, sometimes that can make all the difference in the world. That said. I am a patient if Dr Bechtel. I had "sleeve" surgery done a little over two years ago and see him only for follow up. I chose him because he took time to explain to me what my options were and I did not feel he was rushing me out to see the next patient. He is very knowledgeable and has a great attitude. He really cares about his patients. I highly recommend him for any general surgery as well as bariatric.

Skilled, thorough and really cares about his patient. He did surgery on me and from that day forward has kept me in check, consulted and advised. He takes the time to communicate which is a huge plus in today's physicians. Knows what he's doing, and cares.

Dr. Bechtel saved my life. He discovered that I had cancer during a routine colonoscopy and suggested I schedule surgery immediately. He did not like the look of the lesion he found. Once h operated on me it was discovered that the cancer was larger than thought and my colon was on the verge of separating. His quick action saved my life. Dr. Bechtel takes the time to talk to you and explain everything clearly and makes sure you fully understand what he is telling you.

Dr. Bechtel was the absolute best! Very professional, excellent bed side manners and made me very comfortable. Never once felt rushed or like my questions weren't important. He is one of the few I've experienced that seemed to care about his patients! My surgery was yesterday and I am feeling pretty good! Common gallbladder surgery, but also repaired a hernia he found while in there. His work was very neat as well! So glad I decided on him and I would highly recommend him to anyone and will use him for similar things in future if needed! 5 out 5 stars hands down!! Staff was amazing too!!

Reading that other gentleman's review. This is a review of the doctor themself, not the office manager. This is not fair to give a surgeon 1 star when he probably doesn't even know what's going on. All this does is hurt him. Anyways, I was seen by Dr. Bechtel for gallbladder removal a few weeks ago. His bedside manner was wonderful and he was very caring and knowledgeable. He let me ask questions and was able to answer them to give me some comfort as this was my first surgery ever. He was great and I would use him again if necessary.

I had bypass surgery done on 1-25-2019 by Peter Bechtel.He did a great job. Had to go back for a follow up after surgery and the office Mgr. there told the young lady at the deck I could not see Dr.Bechtel until I filled out several forms. I am disabled and had no one with me to fill them out and she refused to let me see the Dr. told me I could not take them home and get my wife to fill them out and bring them back. She had no concern for my well being just having this surgery done, She called me today Febuary 8, 2019 Because she refuses to have Dr. Bechtel or his nurse call me. She said I only had to sign two or three forms. But the lady told me they needed to be filled out and signed. To bad a good Dr. has such a very,very bad office MGR. that makes Medical decisions if a surgery patient can see their Dr. or not. BEWARE

He had been amazing! Every question I have had he has ansered, explained things before and after my surgery. I would let him operate on me and my family any day!
