List of Rick Keizer's Reviews
I was unfortunate enough to have Keizer as my doctor a few years ago. I went to him due to decreasing mental health. I was in a horrible spot and hated life. I went to him, I was honest, and I was hopeful. He immediately told me bread as the number one killer in the United States. He showed me pictures of him and his girlfriend running races and told me I should live like that. He was the worst excuse for a doctor and decent human I have ever encountered.
In my 68 years I have had many many physicians. Most were useless bags of wind more concerned in letting me know how much more they knew than I did. However, 2 stood out as examples of what every doctor should strive for. The first was a Vietnamese physician that worked for the Army in Northern Virginia, the other was Rick Keizer. Both physicians knew how to listen; listen to more than just what was physically wrong, but also what my mental condition was. Near the end of my 26 year military career in the Army i was seriously injured in a helicopter training accident that required 4 major surgeries necessary to allow me to walk again. Sadly, I became addicted to Oxicontin due to the procedures. Although the Army did its best I feared being "cut off" from my much needed pain management medication when I left the Army. Several physicians wanted nothing to do with me or my problem, however, Dr Keizer listened and appeared to understand my problem and took me in when I was in need. For the last 12 years Dr Keizer has worked with me to bring my addiction under control by working out a concise and unharming pain management program. I owe my life to Dr Keizer over and over again and would not know what do do without his guidance. He is knowlegable of most current medical advances, tells it like it is, and will not take any excuse as an answer. I highly recommend this physician.
He gave me someone else's medication. It was already in the bottle to where he just ripped the name off. Never Again.
Dr. Keizer is very knowledgeable and seems to be aware of current trends in medicine. He takes the time to listen and explain medical concerns. If possible, he tries to find solutions that don't always immediately rely on prescrition medicines or surgery. Based on his advise, I was able to alleviate a lot of the pain I was having in my back and knee. I like that he is a strong advocate of proper nutrition and exercise. I think I'm healthier today bc of his advice.
Dr. Keizer is very straight forward and thorough. He answered all my questions, and made sure I understood what he was telling me. He does not prescribe medicine unless it is necessary and educates patients on how to take care of their bodies so they don't need medicine. If you're a smoker, eat a poor diet, don't exercise or are in denial about your health... you may not like him. But if you are interested in learning how to get well and stay well, he will give you all the information and resources you need.
I have been a patient at Cornerstone for 20 years, Sometimes seeing the doctors, but mostly seeing Mark Dorn (also physicals). I recently called for an urgent appointment and was denied because I have not been sick in the last two years. I was told that I would have to wait a week. This suggests that you do not reward loyalty or building a practice, you only want to concentrate on patients that are consistently sick.
Dr. Keizer is a very good Physician, I have been with him for 10 yrs. I'm recommending a friend.
Dr. Keizer is considerate and listens. My visit with him had to be shortened because I had to take my wife for another appointment (cardiac rehabilitation program) which could not easily be rescheduled and which, of course, was more important than my own need at the time. I think he conducts his practice and advises his patients appropriately.
Doesn't listen very well to patients
Cant say enough about this Doctor, Most insightful and helpful doctor, He is by far the best I have ever encountered. He has taken the time to help me to understand better how to take care of my health needs, He doesn't miss much, He found pre-existing problems that others had missed. I wouldn't trade him for a dozen others!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
