Finally, a medical practice that puts patients before profits. People who complain that the offices are not swanky should keep that in mind. I'd rather have a modest waiting room and 30-60 minutes with my doctor than refreshments while seated on leather chairs waiting more than an hour for a 10 minute visit with a physician who is more concerned about medical billing than me. Next time you have a medical appointment, ask the receptionist, tech, and nurses if their doctor provides good health insurance for them and other employee benefits. I thought that was standard practice; I found out I was wrong. Appointments here are easy to get, and I rarely wait more than 10 minutes when I am there. Follow-up and referral are second to none. I have received call backs as late as 7 p.m. You will find the staff genuinely want to know what is important to you. This is how health care was meant to be. I highly recommend this office.
Dr. Thompson is fantastic-- takes time to listen and really cares. I have never felt rushed or that he did not value what I was experiencing. As someone with chronic sinus infections, he takes time to listen and had helped me tremendously. The office always tries to get me in as soon as possible when I am ill. I have never worked with a better doctor.
Wish to GOD that Google had a NEGATIVE 1000 stars. HORRIBLE SO CALLED Doctor. Went last night in SEVERE PAIN and was COMPLETELY NEGLECTED and HORRIFICALLY MENTALLY AND EMOTIONALLY ABUSED by Mr.Thompson and the nurses who were charged with my care. This Emergency Department has FARRRR TOO MANY GOD COMPLEX Doctors. If you are poor and uninsured and need abuse then go here. SHAME ON THEM!!! Wish to GOD that Google had a NEGATIVE 1000 stars. Spends time with his patients, answering questions willingly and in depth. He is very up to date on current practice and evidence based medicine. He's also quite sensitive to the cost of prescriptions /diagnostic testing and steers his patients to ones which are both cost effective and affordable. No one enjoys doctor visits, however with him it's almost a pleasure!
Doc Thompson and his staff hav been most kind and fast. He looks me in the eye when he talks to me,, and asks a bunch of ?????????s and than listens for as long as we want. He also does not believe in a bunch of pricey treatments and tists, which saved me major bucks, we have been going to doc thompson for three years and would never go to another doctor
Dr. Thompson is a decent doctor, however, the office is managed poorly. I was sick for nearly two weeks and believed I had much more than a regular flu. When I called in to make an appointment, I asked if the doctor would be willing to prescribe antibiotics once he examined me. The staff had read a "script" that the doctor instructed them to articulate to sick patients that they should not expect to be prescribed antibiotics since he determined that a non-bacterial infection was going around. It's as if there was an automatic rush to judgment that I did not need antibiotics before I came into the office. I was told to "ride it out" and decided not to schedule an appointment since it would be a lost cause. A few days later, I was getting much worse and went to the Care Spot Urgent Care on 95th & Antioch where I was diagnosed with Bronchitis and prescribed antibiotics. The doctor at Care Spot was genuine and cared more about me than my own doctor. I would strongly recommend avoiding Midtown Family Medicine-- the quality of care is weak and the staff is unwilling to consider any type of feedback to improve on how they operate. I've experienced the same unaccommodating actions from his nurse practitioner Marcy, who is also reluctant to prescribe antibiotics after you are sick for an extended period of time. My experience has been that the standard practice at Midtown Family Medicine is to doubt what you are telling them and stall on getting you care.
Dr. Thompson is a caring physician who spends as much time with his patients as needed, and follows up as quickly as he can. I'm lucky to have found him.
Dr. Thompson and the staff at Midtown Family Medicine have created a wonderful, caring, expert medical experience. They are quick to respond to calls and questions and give me all the time I need during my visits. I never feel rushed or ignored. Overall, I give Dr. Thompson my highest recommendation. A+ for Dr. Thompson and his team.
Great experience. Easy to park, easy to find office. Nice, knowledgable staff. Dr. Thompson gave me a lot of his time and followed up with me quick to let me know about some blood tests he ran. Really good guy. Not happy about having to go to the doctors office and if I get sick again, will definitely return to Dr. Thompson.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
