Dr. Reuben took the time to listen and explain. He is very knowledgeable, kind and caring.

I had a 2-3 year history of lower back and hip pain. The diagnosis of spinal stenosis and nerve root impingement was made by MRI. I was evaluated by Dr Reuben after a recommendation by a friend who was an Orthopedic colleague of mine and is presently the Director of the Wyoming Spine Institute. Dr. Reuben initially indicated my condition would most likely result in the need for surgery, but he appropriately allowed for a course of conservative treatment. Unfortunately, the conservative approach did not result in any significant degree of improvement in my pain and disability. Understanding that surgery would be needed, and my being an Orthopedic Surgeon in the Cleveland area for 37 years, my only decision would be where and who would perform the spinal surgery. I felt incredibly comfortable with Dr Reuben based on his training, expertise, and how he methodically planned the surgical procedure. Now 4 months following the decompression and instrumentation, I have total relief of my pre operative pain and am now getting back into my daily training, golf and pickle ball. Also can’t say enough about Dr Reuben’s office and nursing staff. Colleen, Mary and all, Thank You!

Excellent Patient care

From the first appointment to surgery all excellent service! We (the wife and I) couldn't be more happy! The entire staff from reception, office nurses, MRI's, DR.Reuben (awesome!) hospital (Hilton Head Hospital) RNs, anesthesiologist, recovery nurses, PT, OT just a great experience overall!! Instantly out of pain. Recovery went great as well. Its been 6 months and wow Thank you Dr.Reuben. Highly recommended

Dr Reuben was very sympathetic to my issues regarding my back. Once my surgery was scheduled he was very informative with every step he was to take. He eased my concerns about spine surgery and assured me all would be ok. After my surgery he informed my people that all was well. He did an excellent job, I have had NO pain since my surgery, discomfort because there is something foreign in my back, but NO pain. I cannot sing his praises enough!

Dr Reuben performed my back surgery that I avoided for years. Amazing how much better I felt after surgery. From his office staff to the hospital staff it really was an unexpected pleasant experience.

Several years ago I found out I had moderate to severe cervical stenosis. I was referred to MUSC but because it was difficult to get back and forth there due to distance and recent knee and hip surgeries, I tried to schedule an appointment with Dr Ruben so I could see a local spine surgeon. He literally told his staff not to schedule me. I had to get my orthopedic surgeon to help in getting an appointment since they work in the same building. At the visit he was rude and clinical notes said I wanted a 5th opinion. I didn’t want a 5th opinion, I wanted to be treated by a physician locally because I couldn’t make the trips back and forth to Charleston. He was rude and abrupt and doesn’t treat everyone the same. I don’t recommend him.

I am a physician and in order to get an appointment with Dr Reuben I needed to get MRI scan from a hospital in Charlotte wher I was an in patient this December. I contacted the Imaging department and they told me the most expeditious way to obtain it was for the doctor’s office to request it by FAX. The office personel refused to do that, citing protocol. I was forced to cancel my much needed appointment.The one stars re Dr Rubin are not accurate as I never saw the doctor but by completing the required boxes was the only way I could submit this evaluation

I have been his patient for spinal surgery on 6Jun2022. I can express total satisfaction about my experience. I became his patient travelling distance over 200 miles.

Dr. Reuben and his staff, are the best. My story begins back when I had back surgery in the summer of 2001, with another Doctor. My recovery was long and painful. Fast forward to the summer of 2021. I started having problems again, and come to find out, i had spinal stenosis and a herniated disk. I was very reluctant, because of my past experience. However Dr. Reuben put me at ease. He started with physical therapy, which didn't fix my problem. Next we did injections. They helped temporarily. So i asked, if surgery was inevitable. He answer was yes. So i reluctantly made the decision to have the surgery. The day of the surgery, i woke up pain free, and just a little sore. I was elated, to say the least. I felt better than i had in years. The afternoon of surgery, i was walking the halls. All my fears were for not. If i had a choice today between a root canal and having Dr. Reuben do another surgery. Dr. Reuben and surgery, no questions!! Thank you Doctor Reuben and everyone involved with my surgery.
