List of Richard Stewart's Reviews
Never saw him till colonscopy and never after. Didnt explain squat nor was any helpful information put in my portal. Worst Gastro Dr. I ever have been to. Look at his 1's that tells it all.
Due to findings from an MRI done by another doctor, I needed a colonoscopy as quickly as possible. Dr.Stewart was able to work me in within two days. I hadn’t met him before the day of the procedure. He was so kind and reassuring that day, not only to me, but to my husband. He made sure that everything was clear and no problems. To be absolutely sure of everything, he ordered a cat scan. His staff got the results to me the next day. I have nothing but gratitude to Dr. Stewart for his kindness and professionalism. I also want to thank his staff for helping with scheduling and kindness. I would be remiss not to mention the amazing staff at BMH out patient surgery. Amazing! Thanks to all of you.
I love Dr Stewart! He is very caring and patient!
Staff at rescheduling is diarrhea!
Really disappointed with the lack of concern shown by this doctor and his staff. They say the patient portal is the best way to get in touch with them but they do not respond in a timely manner or at all to messages from their patients in their patient portal. There seems to be no compassion when their patients are not feeling well. This has happened on several occasions now. He seemed so nice at first and I was hopeful I was going to finally find some answers for the pain and discomfort I’ve been pushing through for awhile. Just very disappointing care from this doctor.
Called Dr's office 5 times about billing issues. No call back, no response and ever time I have spoken to someone they have done nothing to help. I'm stuck with a $2000 bill for a Preventative coloscopy.. I had pre approval for this procedure and it was to be paid at 100%. because the Dr billed it incorrectly I'm stuck with a huge bill and his office is unwilling to help in any way. Do not recommend this physician for that reason.
I was sent to see dr Stewart due to my history of Pancreatic issues. I went on Nov 25th and he did not exam me he asked perhaps 3 questions and said I will get in touch with your previous GI and get back to you. I gave them the paperwork at that time to contact my previous GI and have never heard back since. I have called and have been told the previous dr has 30 days to provide the records. It is over 2 months and no call, text or email from Dr Stewart’s office but let me say they actually took the specialist copayment at time of my visit for a 3 question visit . I am very unhappy with the service what little I received .
I spoke with Dr Stewart on Nutella prompt I had an appointment but they chose to talk to me on the phone the VA had got me an appointment because of pain in my belly and lower abdomen and bleeding. When I talk to the appointment receptionist they made an appointment for me to come in then I got a letter or a phone call telling me that I could just talk to him on the teleprompter. after talking to the doctor he told me I would need to come in for an exam so waste of time. He said someone would be getting back in touch with me to make an appointment waited a week and then I left a message in the teleportal on Friday and today Monday I got a call back from a nurse or a receptionist. She said it sounded like I was aggravatedI told her I was because she did not read what I left in my message because she didn't know why she was calling me and then we lost each other on the phone or she hung up and she called me back and I picked up and she wanted to know that she had read my message and that she was going to try to schedule me for an appointment I told her at this point I would just wait until I talk to my primary care doctor at the VA because it did not seem like they wanted the va's new insurance that the VA had switched to very disappointed with the receptionist I thought the doctor was pretty nice I thought that he had lots of experience because I had checked his information on the internet before talking to him. I do believe that they were not interested in receiving the va's insurance payment the receptionist was extremely rude but telling me that I was she did not want to listen to me I've been trying to get a appointment for over 5 months been bleeding out my behind. Yes at this point in time I I am very aggravated.
Started off ok. Was referred over from my OB/Gyn for cancer screening. Got an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy set up and completed, but never got the results back. Next strike was when I returned with symptoms, but wasn't able to get through the list of symptoms during the Dr's appointment, had tests set up that didn't really address my concern. When I got chewed out by a PA, because I was being "difficult" asking for answers, I decided to find another office.
I found Dr. Stewart to be incredible. He came in well prepared, he had read all my history he followed up with more in depth questions and he explained everything. I felt very safe under his care. After the procedure he came and explained what he found and I was given a hard copy of the results. My only complaint was having the staff call me back with my test results post procedure. I was very happy with Dr. Stewart and would recommend him highly.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
