List of South Carolina Hospital Association's Reviews
I drove into the ER with one of my Marines that had a gash in his head that was leaking prior to arriving. It stopped before we got here and yet even though he had this gash in his head he STILL had to sign in like normal and sit while his injury could potentially get infected. But you know being a ER seemed more like just a normal waiting room with fancy red letters in the entrance. Oh and did I mention it's been 30 mins? ***Update its been a hour*** and still nobody has check on his head injury
Have an 1 year old with Sickel Cell and sat in the lobby for hours with no help. Her original doctor is in Charleston but they told me to bring her to the nearest. ATP I could of took my chances and made it there. As I’m doing this review we’re still waiting on a room so no pain meds or even iv for her being dehydrated. They told us 15mins and it’s been 30 and still no room
Everytime I come here I have issues with the staff in er someone always has a attitude issue and wants to a problem this is really unprofessional
Staff in the ER, Security, and Front desk are all extremely unhelpful, apathetic, and place blameof policies on “COVID”. Being told that I as the parent am a Visitor and I’m not allowed to see my child. Forced to wait outside the ER and not be able to see or comfort my child as I wait to be told second hand information on what’s going on.
Horrible service. How does an ER hold you for 4 hours when you tell them you are at an 8 out of 10 on pain. Not a single care in the world is given at this place. Sad to see our hospitals like this
Mean rude and wrong hospital
Was having chest pains and difficulty breathing and numbness in my hands and feet, they put me in a wheelchair and told my husband he had to leave then handed me paperwork to fill out with numb hands! Was brought back and had blood drawn and told the doctor put in to give me benadryl. When I asked why since I wasn't having any allergy issues the nurse responded very nasty "if you don't want it just say so!" Then I was left for 4 hours, no one came in to check on me at all. I pressed the call button NUMEROUS times trying to get someone's attention to come in and the rude nurse finally came in and asked if I could do a urine sample, I responded with I'm just ready to get out of here since no one wants to answer the call button or the alarm for the o2 sensor beeping for hours and she seemed EXCITED and HAPPY! Bouncing out of the room talking about "OK, I'll go get the AMA paper for you to sign!" And came back in less than 5 minutes with a big smile on her face! I would rather bleed out in an emergency and try to make it to Charleston than to EVER step foot in that hospital again!
The entire organization lacks leadership and accountability from top to bottom. From the ER to the specialty clinics, the level of care is abhorrent, likely due to the fact that anyone who isn’t an administrator or doctor is underpaid and treated like garbage. It’s truly unfortunate. I recommend going any place other than BMH if you can help it, at least under its current leadership (or lack thereof).
I find it disturbing that so many of your medical professionals are publicly announcing on social media that they are" losing the desire to help patients who are not vaccinated." That is sending a truly sad message. These nurses and resp therapists all work for this hospital. Is this the message the administration is sending through them? So many are expressing it openly. Better think twice about going to BMH if you are not vaccinated, get Covid and need hospital care. Your employees and the views they are sharing are a direct reflection on this hospital.
Have been patient for over 10 years. Feel care has gone down and now go to MUSC .

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
