List of Stephen Sisco's Reviews
Awesome Surgeon, showed great concern about my surgical needs, and even adjusted his schedule to take care of my needs before his Christmas break. Great Surgeon, one of the best around. I highly recommend him and his team. Five plus stars to a very great man! Thank you Dr. Sisco for everything you did for me. I pray God blessings upon your continued service to mankind. ❤️✝️❤️
In under 5 minutes of Dr. Sisco stepping in the room, he emphatically told me several times that I was “huge” at 400 lbs, and that almost NO surgeon would operate on my hernia. He explained that I was absolutely massive, and the risks associated with morbidly obese peoples getting surgery are simply too high. Then, after going on about the risks of surgery for a solid minute he IMMEDIATELY recommended that I get BARIATRIC SURGERY, despite having very normal vitals and no health issues associated with my body. I’m simply fat. He then doubled down using BMI as a measure of just how “gigantic” I was (the BMI scale predates the Civil War and is thoroughly junk science, btw), and he also called my need to fix my rather large hernia an “elective” surgery and that the only way he would operate on me was if my “intestines were hanging out,” and even then I’d probably have to be sent up to Charleston. Wild as heck that these things came from the mouth of a person with a doctorate. I like blunt doctors. Don’t sugarcoat the important stuff involving my health. And look, I know I’m fat. In fact, I’m reminded many many times every single day, believe it or not! But dude… don’t gaslight me about all these made up reasons why you “can’t” (i.e. won’t) operate on me. Just tell me you’re uncomfortable with my high liability. I understand that. I knew it was a possibility. Acting like I’m 700+ lbs, immobile, and in poor health when I absolutely am not is INSANE BEHAVIOR. Fat people my size and bigger get life-saving hernia procedures all the time. In fact, I personally know a few. And I need this surgery very badly. Also, I’m not saying he is, but the way in which he spoke to me was soooo very rude and FELT fat phobic. If you’re fat, forget about going to Dr. Sisco for surgery. It’s a complete waste of your time, and he WILL tell you so, in no small amount of exclamations about your “gargantuan” size. He seemed so very inconvenienced and exasperated that I would even see him for a consultation. He did NOT want to be there. He did NOT want to help me, and begrudgingly gave me a recommendation for a surgeon that might help me, up in Charleston. All together, I saw him for under 10 minutes. His mind was made up about me before he even entered the exam room. I’m not sure why his office would even let me come in after his nurses would presumably see my (“HUGE”) weight on the MUSCHealth network charts. I had to pay a $40 copay to get told over and over that I am a whale. I have a mirror that can do that job. Smfh, Dr. Sisco. Disappointing.
Dr. Sisco is a very caring and professional surgeon. He operated on me and removed my appendix. He was wonderful, in pre op he answered all my questions and made me feel comfortable! Thank you Dr. Sisco!
The best doctor I have had the pleasure to being a patient of. He is a true patient advocate. He found another medical issue during surgery, recommended me to another Doctor, and Dr. SISCO, spent over an hour discussing my issues with the next Dr. . Look no further for surgery needs.
Dr. Sisco did two surgeries on my mother and one on my brother. I would highly recommend him to anyone I know. He went above and beyond his duty to take care of our family on all three occasions. His staff is excellent too!
Refuses to even see me after being referred to him by BMH ER. Had his secretary call me and tell me there is nothing he can do for me, and never even seen me. Why was I referred to you then? Thanks for NOTHING
I have never had a bad experience with a doctor with Beaufort Memorial Hospital until today I had never met Dr. Sisco until this day - he took over for Dr. Burres (my first surgical specialist) No beside manor - I mean 0 Made disparaging remarks about the room I was placed - not his room, but Dr. Ashby's (Gyno) Made me wait 30 minutes undressed after asking me to come earlier for my appointment Spent 5 minutes examining me Didn't ask me anything Wouldn't listen to what I had to say - brushed me off rudely leaving the room as I'm speaking saying that's for a different doctor even though it affected my breasts and overall health. Did not show me my actual sonogram as Dr. Burrus had I had to ask for a printout of the sonagram findings from the PA - the PA was great I have asked to be reassigned to the new incoming female surgeon for my future visits
I was there for a breast biopsy, follow up appointment,he did not know where the target point was,he did not know why they did not hit the target,he thought the marker had moved and did not know when I could have another mammogram,or ultra sound, was clearly frustrated with any questions
I have, AFIB and I feel it Dr Sisco told me you can not feel AFIB I really believe he is from Georga he is so far behind its not funny, I will not be using BMH . I think I would be better off going somewhere else to have my Hernia fixed, I don't like being called a liar Thanks for nothing Dr Sisco.
Dr. Sisco amputated my big toe, surgery went great my issues are with after care which was non existent. I needed an insert for my shoe which Dr. Sisco was unable to provide nor did he provide a referral to a doctor that could. In the end I have never felt abandoned by a doctor till now

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
