DR. STUART SMALHEISER IS A BAD CARDIOLOGIST. 😡 HE IS VERY RUDE, DISRESPECTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL. 😡 HE IS VERY IMPATIENT AND DOES NOT CARE. 😡 DO NOT BECOME ONE OF HIS PATIENTS. 😡 DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON DR. STUART SMALHEISER. 😡
Pleasant medical visit (PCP referral) today with Dr. Stuart Smalheiser. He and his staff were friendly, efficient, understanding & accommodating. Highly recommend him & his practice.
I was admitted to Beaufort Memorial Hospital. He visited my room in the morning while I was in the restroom. I told him to wait a minute, and I'll be out in a second. He got impatient and proceeded to scream, "Okay, you need to get out now, I have things to do!" I have never been so appalled at a "professional" blatantly disrespecting and belittling me. He is so rude and sorely lacks bedside manners.

It was perfect… Dr S. Is very friendly, informative and professional. If I e ER had a heart issue I would trust him completely and so should all of you negative Nellies!!!
My 85 year-old mother and I saw Dr. Smalheiser once, but will not go back. Every time my mother asked him a question, he looked at me and answered, referring to "her" and "she." It was like my mother was not even in the room. She was already feeling depressed because of her health issues, but Dr. Smalheiser made her feel like a non-person.

Desperately wish I would have read the reviews before my visit. Everyone was right, he’s extremely condescending and rude. He makes you feel like a waste of his time if it’s not an open and shut case. Refused to answer questions, it’s his way or the highway. I felt like I was being belittled by an employer. It was bizarre.
While Dr. Smalheiser is knowledgeable, he very much lacks people skills. My father (who is in his early 50s) went to see Dr. Smalheiser and whilst discussing my dad’s test results Dr. Smalheiser joked that my dad’s heart was a “widow-maker”, while my mom was also in the room with him. He continued to crack jokes that made my parents both very uncomfortable. He was very judgmental towards my parents and didn’t seem notice his inappropriate behavior. My parents didn’t laugh and even tried to stir the conversation away from jokes and to a more professional conversation, but they weren’t successful. I suggest that he work in research or somewhere that doesn’t involve him talking directly with patients or their families.
While Dr. Smalheiser might be an educated man his people skills are severely lacking. I left the office in tears after he basically belittled me on why I was there. My primary doctor had referred me for hypertension and heart palpitations and Dr. Smalheiser blew it off and said “I’ll put you on a heart monitor if you want me to”. He cared about nothing that I had to say and acted like I was wasting his time. At the end of the appointment his nurse came in and handed me a card and said come back on this date for your monitor. Never asked when or if I was going to be available on the proposed date and then she proceeded to get snarky when I asked about insurance. This entire office obliviously feeds off their bosses bad vibe. DON’T waste your time with this horrible place, you’ll come out of there feeling worse then when you walked in! BTW.. I had to select a star to review so I selected one because none was not a choice.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
