My wife was referred by her on-call doctor to go to the ER due to having 10/10 and ongoing pain in her jaw. She proceeded to the emergency room. She was immediately pulled into the triage room due to the level of pain she had in her jaw. Services were provided, and she was released from the ER and told to watch for certain health conditions, which she later encountered from this visit. We then received a bill that was not covered by my insurance provider, Humana. I called Humana, and asked why my insurance did not cover the expense. I was told that the services were submitted under non-emergency services. I asked the billing department to resubmit the bill under the appropriate code. They agreed. I received another bill in the mail. The bill was "discounted" because Dr. Dhiraj Baruah stated that it was not emergency services upon reviewing the bill, and suggested I pay the bill.
