List of Jason M. Highsmith's Reviews
Dr. Highsmith continuously goes out of his way to not only: 1) alleviate immediate discomfort and 2) provide a path for comfort in the future. His dedication and care are why I choose to continue to see him.
Honest and reliable.
I have a history of brain aneurysms and he was referred to him by my neurosurgeon, my surgeon who was retiring. When I went to see Dr. highsmith he told me that he was not operating on patients with aneurysms anymore. I lost all respect for him, when this was his specialty as a doctor. He more or less picks what patients he chose to operate on
Great doctors but now does not except any insurance $400 to see him now wish he took insurance.
Dr. Highsmith is a wonderful surgeon and has a great bedside manner. He operated on my lumbar spine and relieved the sciatic pain in my left leg. I had only Medicare and Medicaid at the time but I was told he no longer accepts insurance and is now self pay only, I’m sorry this happened because I won’t have access to his services anymore.
I am not having a good experience with highsmith still in pain from my surgery
He fused C7 T1-2. Very skilled and great bedside manner this was done in 2013. Now I have developed some other issues and spent weeks waiting for records for him. Now I know he's left the practice and finally got a fax number for him 843-474-0172. I understand he works out of several offices now.
I had not seen him in a while- called for appt and discovered he is on his own and not in insurance network- cash. So disappointed in his lack of concern for his patients.
The "BEST" neurosurgeon ever!
I had spinal fusion surgery approximately 4 years ago and I must say it was 110% successful. There was never any pain whatsoever, it was just a no-brainer as far as I was concerned. My interactions with Dr Highsmith were excellent, but he told me in a few years I would probably need more surgery. Sure enough I did, but when I called Dr Highsmith's office to set an appointment, I was told he wasn't accepting new patients nor any patient he hadn't seen in the last two years was considered a new patient. The nurse even told me she handed the message to him from me and she said he just shook his head "no". I just feel that was very unprofessional and I write this note just to get this lack of consideration off my "chest." I'm not sure why I'm even taking time to write this because it will never be read and/or acted on with "any powers to be". PS: Finally got an appointment with another doctor in the same office where I found out I have spinal stenosis and will be operated on 8/29/18. This doctor, Dr Sabino D'Agostino, is professional, kind, wonderful "bedside mannor" and instills great confidence. Everyone else in the office displayed the same characteristics. I could not be more satisfied. If you don't hear from me after the 29th, you can be sure the operation was extremely successful and no hiccups occured since this posting.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
