Had been bringing my child here for 6 months and today was the final straw. My first visit here I asked about my baby blood type and she has the audacity to tell me I didn’t need to know that. Then when I told her about my baby constipation, she says that her baby went 13 days without bowel movement trying to convince me that is normal. Yeah right. And yesterday The doctor showed no compassion. I told her my baby wasn’t feeling well and they didn’t even bother checking her temperature. She then goes on to say my baby looks fine when clearly as her mother I know she didn’t look fine. I waited a long time for my miracle baby and I will not tolerate any doctors lack of compassion or interest in my child’s well being. Do not bring your child here.
Dr Dino is a great doc and there are plenty of great docs here but front end staff is non existent. Spent 45 min on hold waiting to speak to someone at the office to reschedule an appt due to covid diagnosis. The call ended with no one answering. Tried their texting service giving patient information... black hole, no response. No available email on website to reach out to anyone. Extremely frustrating when you spend three days trying to get ahold of someone with zero response.
The staff here are so incredibly friendly, and Dr. Herwig always takes her time with all of my new mom questions (my daughter was a preemie, so I had ALOT of questions). Dr. Herwig is so thorough with her examination of my daughter, and takes her time when she's in the room with you. She came recommended through a friend of mine, and I'm happy that we chose Sweetgrass Pediatrics over some of the other pediatric offices in the area. Also, did I say how awesome the staff was?!?! They really are amazing. If you want your child to feel comforted and cared for during their annual wellness checks then this is the place for you.
Brought my son in for his six month well visit/ immunizations. The provider asked if we wanted to give him the six month vaccinations we said yes. Three weeks later: we requested his immunization records for his daycare. Sweetgrass sent us a form showing he is missing one of the DHEC required immunizations for his six month visit. They never administered the 3rd dose of a vaccine that he is on schedule for - and they never told us they were not going to provide that vaccine. We called the practice to ask why and they did not have any explanation. So one of two things happened: either there was a medical oversight and he did not receive the vaccine that he should have, meaning he is in danger at daycare without this vaccine/ we are breaking SC law by sending him to daycare without proper immunizations AND he has now missed the appropriate time window to receive this vaccine per the vaccine schedule OR there was a clerical oversight and he did in fact receive this vaccine, but it was never noted in his chart putting him at risk for an immunization overdose now when we DO get the vaccination (from a different provider of course). Either way, sloppy care from the provider and/ or administration team. Cannot believe they would provide such a lack of care towards my infant. Beyond frustrated and would never return to this pediatrician, would NOT recommend.
I was excited to use Sweetgrass Pediatrics for our newborn but am highly disappointed in their treatment with vaccinations. We took our 6-month old in for his 6-month checkup and vaccinations and found out a month later they did not provide him with all of the standard vaccinations at our appointment. Our daycare requested vaccination records and this is how we had to find out Sweetgrass dropped the ball. I contacted them and they had no answer as to why this was an oversight. Will find another pediatrician who pays closer attention to detail.
We enjoyed our experience with Sweetgrass. Doctors and office staff were always kind and efficient. However, once we learned that they don't require immunizations for all patients we had to seek out a different provider with higher standards. Very happy now with Parkwood Pediatrics and their unwavering devotion to the continued health of their most vulnerable patients.
We travel to this office from Summerville to see Dr. Dino! He is the best doctor around because he doesn’t just jump to medication, talks with my daughter as well as myself, is very calm and attentive, respectful of parents, and the kind of person you want to take care of your family! My children get excited to go to the doctor if we are seeing Dr. Dino! Well, my 5 year old always asks if he’s getting a shot. The office staff is very helpful and friendly at this location! I would recommend this office over the North Charleston one!
This pediatric group has forgotten that patients always come before billing.....the front desk staff at west ashley were ok....and just ok my first visit they were fine, I think I even complimented them afterwards unfortunately it went down hill on my next 2 visits. My biggest concern is there is no direct number to your child's doctor's office. When you have a sick child it is so inconvenient that you are connected to an answering service during operating hours. That is a lack of compassion and care. It completely removes the direct patient provider relationships that must be built and maintained for a success. The office is old and unkept and everyone seems underpaid and overworked, its like the passion for healthy children has left the building. Everything isn't an emergency room situations but when you want to make an appointment speaking to someone at your child's actual location shouldn't be a hassle.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
