I suffered a detached retina and was under the care of Dr Johnson at Palmetto Retina at the time. But when the retina detached Dr J was unavailable and they flipped me to Dr Hypes. Best thing that ever happened to me with regard to my eyes, my situation. The man is incredibly forthright and caring. Extremely capable. I had pressure issues ... he came through like a champ. Ever had to have a needle inserted into your eyeball in the middle of the night to extract fluid to relieve pressure? If you ever suffer from that kind of pressure you'll beg for the needle and hope it's Dr Hypes giving you the relief. I cannot recommend him enough.

He responds to questions and concerns with patience and thorough, clear answers. He demonstrated concern for my comfort and well-being during in-house and in-hospital surgeries.
