I don’t get some of the other negative reviews because I have been to Dr. Schaefer a few times now and she has been very nice and easy to talk to and listened and really checked out all my concerns to get to the bottom of what was going on. I had an excellent experience with her and found her to be a very good doctor! I have recommended her to several friends!

Don’t go to this doctor. She does unnecessary in office test as well as lab work that insurance won’t cover and you end up with an outrageous bill. Not only that she is very unprofessional with her staff.

Dr. Schaefer is very money hungry. Even for maintenance medications she will make you go into the office every single month and pay for an appointment just to do a refill on your medication, even if you are only doing labs every 6 months. All medications are only given for 30 days, NO REFILLS. She has a rule of NEVER calling patients - she does not talk to patients on the phone for any reason, ever. She also doesn't remember her patients, even if she just saw them the previous week.

Dr. Schaefer was my doctor for a number of years until she left the Columbia area. I have seriously considered driving to Sumter just to be able to use her again. I have not been able to find another doctor with her extraordinary skill set. I have found competent doctors but none that have inspired the confidence that I experienced when I was under her care.

I was Dr Schaefer's patient fo over 10 years prior to her relocating to Sumter. How I wish I could find another doctor like Dr Schaefer here in Columbia. She is a Dr who really cares about her patients .
