Cathleen Mccabe's Online Review Report Card

Very disappointed in my visit today to have laser treatment to correct cloudiness in right eye. I was told to be there by 615AM. I did. The Office was not open and there 5 people waiting outside. Finally someone opened the door at 620. I waited over an hour before they called my name. They put drops in my eyes sent me into another waiting room and told me to keep both eyes SHUT. There I found more disgruntled patients with eyes closed who had been waiting too long. An hour later they took me back for the procedure which took only about 5 seconds and pointed me toward the door to the parking lot. Very unprofessional. The 2 hour wait for a 1 minute procedure is ridiculous.

I traveled to Bradenton from Indiana in November to see Dr. Cathleen McCabe for clear lens extraction to correct my vision. Im 48 years old and have been wearing glasses full time since I was 3. She was able to exchange my natural lens with a multifocal implant. I no longer need glasses for distance or to read. This has been life changing for me I could not have had a better experience. Everyone was very professional and kind throughout the entire process and Dr. McCabe is a masterful surgeon. I highly recommend her for her surgical skills and her offices for exemplary professionalism and care. Well worth the trip from Indiana

Dr. Cathleen M McCabe is a fabulous doctor and has given me the miracle of great eyesight that I never thought I would be able to experience. She is truly a miracle worker with a kind heart

Steer clear of this Dr. performed cataract surgery on me a year ago I’m now seeing another Dr. who is correcting her mistakes. She made my sight worse than it was prior to seeing her. Absolutely would not recommend this eye surgeon to anyone. Please research and avoid this woman at all cost

I was referred to Dr. McCabe who has an impressive CV. This was my first time visit. The technician was on time. She had however not read the notes assuming I needed a full eye exam whereas I came in for an issue with one of my eyes. She was efficient but not especially pleasant or friendly. I waited more than an hour to see the Doctor in the waiting room and was then put in the exam room which was semi dark. It is nicer to have the light switched off when the exam starts. When the Doctor came in I had to ask her if she was the Doctor? She did not introduce herself to me or even apologized for the long wait. She was very efficient and quick with the diagnosis and explanation. She left again without saying anything whereas I wished her a Happy Christmas to which she responded. I am convinced she is an excellent Doctor but I felt I was treated like a number not as a person. Maybe she had a rough morning but still... I just moved to Sarasota and find that people in general are polite and friendly this was unfortunately a disappointing experience. I will give her the benefit of doubt and 3 stars.

My fist visit to The Eye Associates and my first consultation with Dr. Cathleen McCabe. I could not have been more satisfied with the entire experience. Competent and amicable staff and Dr. McCabe could not have been better. Took her time to to thoroughly explain to me everything relevant to my upcoming cataract surgery. I found her compassionate and extraordinarily competent. The best of the best

Im searching for an experienced Lots cataract surgeon and this looks like the doctor that could help me.

Wish I could give less than 1 star Totally uncaring gives very little time or effort. Just wants to get you in do surgery get money. Does NOT answer questions. Talks in medical jargon I could not understand though I am a medical professional. Does not inform you of true risks. I would never put myself in her hands.

DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR. In 2015 I had this gray occlusion suddenly appear at the bottom of my eye. Eye Associates of SRQ insisted it was a floater. They refused to listen to me when I told them I wasnt. They sent me home for 3 weeks during which the occlusion worsened. I was scared and didnt know what to do. I DIDNT EVEN GET A DIAGNOSIS UNTIL I MOVED OUT OF STATE NAIONneuroretinitis 1 eye dr. now is telling me I should have been given steroids right away to halt damage.
