List of Supen Patel's Reviews
I have been a patient with Dr Patel for ten years. He diagnosed me with RA when I was 22. He is extremely knowledgeable and worked with me to get the inflammation under control. I moved from Florence to Myrtle Beach but I still drive an hour and a half every three months to stay with Dr Patel. He is highly recommended
Total jackass should practice mortuary science and not interact with people who are still alive. My opinion that is....
Arrogant asshole
Arrogant hypocrite doesnt care about patients or their families.
Visits were ordinary. Hes not a people person. I guess I didnt have a big enough problem for him so he made my appointments with his nurse pract. Id tell you how she is but havent gotten to see her because they have cancelled my last four appointments. This last one they called me when I was about four blocks away from practice. I guess they dont count me as important so who needs a doctor that cares nothing about you. I mean never once have they even asked if I needed a refill on my medication.
I saw him in 2016 I was referred by a doctor in Columbia sc. She was very unprofessional herself. After waiting for 3 months for my appointment. He walked in no bedside manner at all and said I had lupus. He was more concerned with why I was a stay at home mom than anything. No tests nor physical was given to me. I was told the diagnostic came from reading my previous report sent to him. Needless to say I switch doctors and was told I dont have lupus. I needed vitamin D. My vitamin D level was very low and it was causing my body to ache and collapse. My new doctor was correct. Today I contacted my doctor to have my record sent to me. I was told my paperwork had no records of me having lupus. it only stated back spasm. WOW... Those two doctors were going to hustle the insurance company for money. Im glad I never went back.
Dr.Patel has been my doctor for almost 17 years. I was diagnosed with RA 20 years ago and Fibromyalgia 26 years ago. Dr.Patel has precribed medications not just to relieve pain but to stop the progression of the disease. When you are diagnosed you dont know what to expect. Even if family or friends have this disease you cant know how it will affect you. He is always there to explain things and try to prescribe medications that will help. I have been through all of them. I have had other medical problems that Dr.Patel has referred me to other doctors for. He asks a lot of questions and has bloodwork done at every visit. His nurse is Chiquita and she is very nice and helpful. Virginia checks you in and out and is always very friendly. I have trusted Dr.Patel with my life and I never regretted it. I would recommend him to anyone. If you are going to a doctor with a Rheumatoid disease and expect to magically be cured of pain then you will be disappointed. No doctor can do that. This is a disease that there is no cure for. Some medications help some do relieve pain to a certain degree but others dont. Stopping your joints from deteriorating is more important unless you want to be in a wheelchair. As someone with the disease for 20 years the most important thing a doctor can do is help you in the long run and Dr.Patel has done that for me.
Dr. Patel is a great doctor. I have been seeing him for 8 years now and he’s always listened to my problems and tried to help me the best he can. He takes my complaints seriously and does blood work to follow up. He continues to monitor me closely because my diagnosis could easily turn into other diagnoses as well. I LOVE his nurse Chikita and they always make me feel like family when I’m there. I’ve been seeing them since I was 14 years old and was given a diagnosis on the first visit with blood work just to confirm. No other dr knew what was wrong with me or would see me because I was so young at the time but he took a chance on me and I’m so glad that he did If I call them with a serious complaint or flare up they will see me that week to check on me and figure out what’s going on. He truly is a great doctor who cares about his patients and treats you as family. That would be why he gives some of his patients a hug because he truly loves his patients. Not to make you feel uncomfortable... I highly recommend
I have been seeing Dr Patel for a few years and this has never happened to me but at today’s appointment he hugged me a few times and kissed me on the cheek I felt extremely awkward and violated. He was congratulating me for losing weight but his behavior was very strange. Not sure what to do about this I like him as a Dr but not comfortable with this behavior.
I was referred by my neurologist for evaluation. Waited 3 months for appt got there only to find rude office staff and worse of all Dr Patel comes in sits down and starts typing. Asked me about 34 questions with no comments other than to tell my caretaker to shut up and said he was doing blood work. No indication of what I was being tested for nothing. 3 days later someone who sounded like a teenager temp hire called to say nothing positive on those tests no further appt needed. Couldnt answer any questions or say anything other than he said your fine. So I called back next day to ask someone else who may have been more qualified about making a follow up appt because I had no diagnosis and didnt understand what I was even tested for. The response I got was if you think hes lying go somewhere else. When I begged for my diagnosis the answer was multiple joint pain which was my primary complaint when I went in anyway. So what did I learn? They are all rude and unprofessional and Dr Patel needs to figure out how to talk to his patients and maybe a follow up appt might benefit both he and the patient he hasnt diagnosed yet. Im very dissatisfied and will seek other care.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
