List of Walter Frank Md's Reviews
I have been seeing Dr. Frank for 8 years. I found him to be engaging and caring and ready to go the extra mile to be helpful. Does not suggest unnecessary procedures when that are not warranted (my old Urologist in Maryland, required a yearly ultrasound and CAT scan for Kidney Stones). I appreciate his candor and have full confidence in his abilities.
I have seen Dr. Frank for the past three years, I'm very pleased with the service from him and his staff....
My husband and I have utilized the services of Dr. Frank for probably 15 + years. We are grateful for finding him. I find him so easy to talk to. No rush. Effective assessment, care plan and outcome. Will be seeing him again today. Looking forward to feeling better.
Literally, had no idea about the procedure TURP. The explanation was provided after the surgery. Not, before. I would have put in place, a plan to be : Not driving for 2 weeks. Not climbing stairs for 2 weeks. Bed rest for 2 weeks. This information is ...very important, to know before you have the surgery. A bit late when you hear it, after the fact. Very disappointed.
I think all of these five star reviews about Dr. Frank are just made up. He is by far the worst Urologist I’ve ever been to. He insisted on doing a surgical procedure that I did not think was necessary and I asked him for a second opinion. He said no I was stuck with Atlantic urology. I said I did not want the procedure done. He said well I’m not taking the catheter out until you have it done. he left the Foley catheter in me for six weeks, causing damage where it shouldn’t have been caused. I eventually went out of the area to find a new urologist but the damage had been done. I totally encourage and urge you, do not go to Dr. Frank. He is a serious hazard.
Read all one and two star reviews and they all pertain to me one one way or another. Poor bedside manner, never comes out to explain to my wife the results of a procedure after it is completed. Does not have communication skills at all. He came in to remove a stint in blood spotted scrubs His nurses are super and it is easy to get appointments. I am looking for a new urologist.
Dr Frank is very thorough and easy to talk to. He explains the diagnosis very well. The procedures were well done with good results. Staff is very friendly and professional.
It’s hard to get away from Atlantic Urology in Myrtle Beach, but it’s better to find a qualified urologist in Charleston than to go to this doctor. He is rude, crass, and quite brutal. He was a hazard to my health. A qualified urologist confirmed that the procedure proposed/demanded by Dr Frank was actually unnecessary and dangerous. He upsells by bullying. Do not go to this man. He is a compassionless butcher.
Been with him for over 10 years. A good man, good doctor and easy to talk to. An excellent surgeon. I think those who complain about him should look inward. I'm willing to bet the root of their problems start with themselves. He's a doctor, not a god. Too many listen but do not hear or hear only what they want to hear.
I can’t believe Dr. Frank has three stars. He deserves none. He has no bedside manner, does NOT explain options. Gives ultimatums. Rude, crude, unprofessional, obnoxious. Not a dr you want working for you. He’s a bully.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
