List of Hilton Head Hospital's Reviews
No wonder you guys have 2.7 stars. You dont deserve any. Your a freaking Hospital and youve stopped doing free covid testing? So much for serving your community. Screw yall.
Here is a simple rule most Area Residence know. If you have an emergency no time to spare you go to HH Hospital and pray. If stitches or a quick fix you will not have to pray hard. For anything big or medium of a medical issues you have only two choices. MUSC IN CHARLESTON OR MAYO IN JACKSONVILLE. THAT IS IT MUSC is an easy 1.5hr drive and Mayo Clinic is Exactly 3 hours down 95. Hilton Head Hospital and their sister Carolina Coastal are a danger zone. I heard this first hand from too many nurses and residence nightmare horror stories like my own horror experiences. Their billing system is antiquated as well as their medical procedures and surgeries.
This place is horrible. If you have an elderly loved one take them somewhere else.
The nurses and doctors that took care of my mom on the second floor were really good although being out of town there were notes for them to call me to update me on a regular basis that didn’t happen. There seemed to been a little bit of a communication gap however they took very good care of her. I will say this the discharge nurse Melanie lacks compassion. Not going to go into a whole lot of detail about it but I was told at 300 in the afternoon my mother needed to be released by the end of the day or at noon the following day at the latest. She was very curt harsh and rude.
Went Thursday night do to severe stomach pain. I had been told by a radiologist the day before I had a tear in intestines fron an accident earlier this month that a fluid pocket to form and if my pain got worse go to er cause it could rupture. When I told this to the ee doctor. Dr clodfelter he rolled his eyes and said that was quite a story then shoves me twice during the exam then when I told him I had a disk given to me by the radiologist in my purse he grabbed my purse and threw it onto my stomach as I was laying on the gurney. Ive never felt so disrespected by a medical professional in my life
SNAFUs abound here.
Went to the ER for a severe migraine. Was finally seen after 3 hours. They gave me a shot which relieved the pain and said they would send me home with a pill. At discharge they said they instead were going to call it in to the pharmacy. I am on vacation and headed home today. Stopped at the pharmacy to pick up my medicine and it was never called in. Now I have to travel back home without pain relief. Unbelievable 🙄
Took my daughter there when she woke up in the middle of the night coughing and unable to catch her breathe. It took a couple of hours before we were seen which is to be expected I guess so no fault there. She was never tested for COVID which I assume is standard procedure now but what do I know. After all is said and done things look fine we are being walked through our services and they let us know that the services we provided were more closely representative of a Level 1 but our bill will probably be around this which is a Level 3... the discrepancy is never explained there I assume they just standard over bill for all visits. When the bill DOES come in lo and behold it IS a Level 3. So I submit a request for an audit which comes back that no changes are needed. Again SHOCKER. It is just TRULY maddening to be told youre going to be overcharged and then request an audit FROM THE PEOPLE YOU OWE and they say no everything looks good here.
They’re not the worst hospital but like other bad hospitals the patients had to ask repetitively for anything such as water if they had cottonmouth and there are rude nurses but hey they are better than the beaufort hospital was which is nothing to brag about.
The most filthy facility Ive ever been in. Filthy nasty disgusting.Google Tenant health care lawsuits. You will see they have had many fines from the government and many lawsuits against them for upcoding and fraudulent billing practices. Most of their Google reviews have been hidden last year this time there were hundreds of negative ones theyve all been deleted. If I could give 10 stars I would

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
