List of J. Robert Gavin's Reviews
Dr. Gavin is a wonderful orthopedic surgeon. But when you have an appointment at his office, he is always at least an hour behind schedule.
Dr. Gavin is truly a gifted, conscientious orthopedist who I recommend enthusiastically and without hesitation! After having a (fairly complicated) meniscus repair done by him, I can truthfully say that his follow-up, attention to detail, pain managment protocol, and overall professionalism is beyond excellent. Working in healthcare for 20+ years, I know that he is not the norm ;) And with a personable, kind and considerate bedside manner, he is sure to put one's nerves at ease while delivering expert care.
Dr. Gavin is a good listener, communicates well with his patents, and works in partnership with them.. He has great bedside manner.
I was very apprehensive about my knee surgery. Dr Gavin provided me with options and explained in detail what I could expect...all my questions were answered in great detail....spent time explaining the results of X-rays and MRI. He was very thorough, patient, and understanding. Excellent surgeon. Staff was helpful and efficient in helping me apply for medical leave from work. Post-surgery follow-up has also been excellent. The practice is well run.....staff is helpful, caring, and professional.
Most arrogant doctor I have ever dealt with. Rude office staff and long wait times.
Dr. Gavin is a good listener, communicates well with his patents and works in partnership with them.. My recent meniscus surgery was successful. Consider Dr. Gavin if you are looking for an orthopedic surgeon.
Dr. Gavin was very sincere, very compassionate and treatly my injury acurately. However, there was a misrepresentation of his exam which resulted in a billing error. A visit to the head of his billing department was excrutiating however, as she accused me of accusing the doctor of fraud, which was not the case at all. I tried to point out the error, which she would not acknowledge. She said she would "write off" the charge only if I stopped using the words "error or mistake". If not, she would send me to collections. Should that happen, I will see that it is all over social media. This woman was actually out of control and very threatening by the end of the conversation and there was no way to reason with her. I wish I could somehow point this out to Dr. Gavin as he does not deserve to have this woman in his office. Everyone else there was very professional
Not Helpful, 1 hour+ waiting, rude PAs, talked negatively about me in the hall outside the room, complained of not caring and not caring to see me. PAs said they don't know why I was there they didn't want to come in the room. Very nasty people
New to area saw doctor based on neighbor referral. Office is older and could use an update but clean and adequate. Doctor is conservative. Discusses options and gives clear descriptions of procedures.
I hurt my hip and Dr. Gavin was very kind. I don't normally write reviews, but he held my hand when he told me a broke my hip. Doctors don't hold my hand. I had to have surgery. I was so upset. He really helped and I trusted him. My surgery went great. Thank you Dr. Gavin.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
