Nicholas Mihelic's Online Review Report Card

Refused me his expertise merely because I was in the process of applying for SS Disability. Claimed he didn't operate on feet, even though Orthopedic surgeons, such as himself, are described as, "corrects congenital or functional abnormalities of the bones with surgery." Liar!!! Would give him zero stars, but obviously, that's not allowed here. Maybe you should retire, Mr. Mihelic. Clearly you're not up to the task of REAL medicine.

Dr. Mihelic has done a knee replacement and just completed carpal tunnel surgery for me. He is great with his hands. His bedside manner is very comforting. His staff is wonderful. I highly recommend Dr. Mihelic.

In December of 2015, I suffered a fall in my home that resulted in injuring my two wrists. One of the wrists had been completely fractured. During the visit to the Hilton Head Hospital, the ER doctor told me that I would need to see an orthopedic surgeon for further treatment. He highly recommended that I see Dr. Nicholas Mihelic. Shortly after our initial meeting and consultation, Dr. Mihelic performed some remarkable surgery on my wrist that returned it to its normal range-of-motion within a year with no scarring. This was my first experience with Dr. Mihelic.I returned to see Dr. Mihelic in the Spring of 2019 when I was experiencing severe pain in my right knee. Dr. Mihelic determined that I was suffering from a bone-on-bone condition in my knee, and that, given that condition, I was an excellent candidate for a knee replacement. He sent me on my way with a cortisone shot to temporarily relieve the pain, and to give me time to prepare myself, both physically and mentally, for knee replacement surgery.In September 2019, Dr. Mihelic successfully performed a knee replacement on my right knee. I have every expectation of a full return to my former normal activities once I have completed the post-surgical recovery/rehabilitation regiment. I fully expect my knee surgery to end up being no less successful than my wrist surgery!Dr. Mihelic is one of the finest doctors that I have ever come across in my lifetime. More than anything else, he is an honest, kind, and compassionate physician. He is always focused on his patient’s well-being and comfort. His bed-side manner is second to none, and his main concern is always for his patients. He spent as much time with me as I needed in explaining my options, and I never felt as if I was being rushed along. As a surgeon, he is knowledgeable, trained and extremely well-skilled, especially in his use of robotic surgery, with all of its attendant accuracy and precision. There is no one else whom I would have trusted to perform such a critical surgical procedure.Second only to him in performance is his entire staff. Each of them -- Pam, Peggy, Carrie --, are kind and considerate to each and every patient. And most noteworthy, they are competent and thorough in their office positions. When the decision was made for surgery, all pre-surgical preparations were arranged for by his staff – the “paperwork,” the lab and hospital appointments, the post-surgical physical therapies and equipment, the “follow-ups,” etc. There was nothing for me to think about or do, except to show up at the hospital on the day of surgery. Dr. Mihelic’s staff relieved a great deal of my pre-surgical stress and allowed me to mentally prepare for the “big day,” for which I am ever so grateful. And post-surgically, they were just as thorough and caring.In short, in my opinion and my experience, Dr. Mihelic and his staff are “hidden gems” within the field of orthopedic medicine. I give them the highest recommendations in every respect.

Visiting from Ohio, fell and had four breaks in right ankle! First broken bones ever. Dr Mihelic saw me, I had surgery the next day thanks to his awesome office staff and surgical team. Dr. Mihelic has just completed a surgery that has eliminated two years of pain. He is a master. I am so grateful for his expertise.

I met this Dr in the hospital in Hilton Head SC due to a broken arm while on vacation. He truly has a great bedside manner and shows care and compassion to patients. I also had to visit his office and I must say the overall experience was awesome. I would highly reccomend.
