Sorry they don't follow up with you you have to stay on top of them if your a minority find another provider
One of the ladies' (I think she is new because I have never seen her before) at the front desk treats patients who don't look like them or speak like them like a disease. I was waiting to be seen by my provider in the waiting area when a patient who appears to not speak good English came to check in, and I can tell there was discriminatory attitude from the lady at the window whose only job is to check in patients and make them feel welcomed. I always come here for my health care, but guess I wouldn't be back. Nice building, not so nice receptionist. Disappointed.
Love this Dr office. Staff, starting at the front desk and all the way to the end, kind and helpful. Stephanie Gunn is totally awesome. My diabetes is finally under control. She took the time to get to know me and helped me get to a good point. I am 63 and with her help I am going to live a long time.
I called to see about switching from Karina Hurley to Dr Roberts. I was told he was but was not tkaing new patients... Okay whatever that means. The receptionist then calls back and says Dr Roberts won't see becuase I have an old Rx on file for Xanax. Not once did they even ask what I needed to be seen for (Xanax wasn't it by the way) they just assumed. I'll moving on from this practice altogether very unprofessional.
I would give zero stars if possible. We have been trying to get in touch with them for literally over two months to get a prescription refill of heart medication. The kind of medicine you should never stop cold turkey or you risk medical issues. We have called multiple times a week, every week, for literally ten weeks. No one has ever answered the phone. When their mailbox isn't full we leave a voicemail message. No one has ever called us back. Two weeks ago he ran out of the medication and I went physically to the office. They took my number and said they would have the doctor call us. Guess what never happened? We already have an appointment set up with a new doctor we're waiting on, since we will never use them again. Additionally, when he first saw this doctor, we suspected allergies. The doctor did a scratch test, and said he was allergic to practically everything, and put him on a lot of meds. The meds didn't help so he went to a specialist, who looked at the results of the original test and was shocked. Apparently my husband showed a reaction to the control sample, which has no allergens and should never react; this means the whole test was compromised and he wasn't allergic to ANYTHING, and somehow the original doctor didn't know this. They don't know what they're doing, and he was on unnecessary meds for over a year. Stay away from this practice.
NP Amanda Dudley is my primary care. She is kind, helpful and knowledgeable. My previous doctor left the clinic a few years ago, and I was so nervous that I would not be able to find quality again. Thank you so much for the top notch care and for proving all my fears wrong Nurse Amanda!!
I am a long-time patient of Dr. Gabriel's, at least until this morning (8/12/22). SC Internal Medicine used to be a great practice, but their level of personal attention and patient care has gone way downhill. They've apparently rapidly expanded their number of regular patients but haven't expanded their staff accordingly. I came in this morning for a routine physical with one of the PA's. I was 12 minutes late getting there, but I called ahead to tell them I would be a little late and they said no problem, as long as I got there within 15 minutes of my scheduled appointment time (9:30). I arrived in the office at 9:42 (12 minutes late). They took my insurance card, charged me the co-pay for the visit, gave me a bunch of paperwork to update and said I would be seen. Then, about 10 minutes later, they called me up to the front desk and said I would have to reschedule "because I came in late" and the provider was now unable to see me. This is typical lately of my experience with SC Internal Medicine. I have also had problems getting them to call back for prescription refills. Dr. Gabriel is a great Dr., if you can ever get an appointment with him- hard to do these days. I am now looking for another practice where I am treated like a human being instead of just another revenue stream. If you want personal treatment, you're better off at your local doc in the box.
The staff are very nice and make you feel welcomed there in the office. In Meeting Dr. Lauren Francis, it was a sheer delight. She is very nice and looking forward to working with her about my weight problem. It will be a great joy to get these pounds off and she really makes me believe I can do it with her help. Keep me in your prayers that this will be a great success story.
SC Internal Medicine Associates has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. My annual visit with Dr. Sean Fuller was and has always been outstanding. Can't say enough about how caring and thorough he is. The nurse practitioners and nurses are kind, knowledgeable as well and are concerned about my well-being. I feel I am in very good hands. You can see easily that he and his staff all care. I highly recommend Dr. Sean Fuller and his staff to anyone. Thank you all.
This place used to be great! I don't know what has happened to SCIM in the past 6 months-year. If you try to call about something urgent, but non emergency, no one answers! Ever! You won't receive a call back till weeks later. If you accidentally miss that one call, because you were running to get to your phone, and try to call back 1 min later, you'll just go to voicemail again. It's absolutely unacceptable. I have never left a review like this. However, having after visit support is just as important as your in office visit. Normal labs/x-rays that you would typically get back in a day or 2 or a week max, are now taking about a month! I know that covid has caused many issues for business, so I did take that into consideration prior to writing this. But, other local doctors offices, are not dealing with these same problems. SCIM used to be incredible! It's really sad, because I truly feel they have some of the best doctors/nurses in the midlands area. For that reason only, I'll give them 2 stars. Management, something has got to give! I know others who go here, and everyone feels the same. I would no longer recommend anyone coming here unless you want a business that just takes your money, and follows up with zero support!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
