List of Palmetto Primary Care Physicians's Reviews
Been going to Dr. Avril for over 5 years. Followed him to this practice from a previous practice. Went yesterday for flu shot and update on meds. Was refused service because they were "afraid" I had covid due to a cough. Asked me to wait outside in my car and 40 minutes later the good doctor came out to talk with me. After a few questions and educating me on his position on covid data he referred me to another office to get tested before they would consult and treat me. Test was not offered at his facility but the vaccine for covid apparently is and pushing the vaccine was very important to him.(Note: I've had this cough for two weeks now and no fever with a history of severe allergies always this time of year.) Their oxygen monitor test showed I had a 92% saturation level. ( I obtained one after I left this appointment and it hasn't registered below 97% in the past 12 hours.)Before being sent away to be tested I asked the Dr. how we were going to proceed with flu shot and meds...he said let's see how the test goes. Really? So you now need to prove you're NOT sick to be seen by your doctor? This practice offers tele health services but he did not present this as an option.BTW...i did get a call from the other office almost immediately to schedule a swab test.I could post my opinions about what happened but I think just stating the facts should be enough about whats going on here. You decide.
I have gone to palmetto primary once Tiffany MCKeel is awesome. she is very attentive listens and is very thorough. Palmetto primary care is horrible at answering the phone, if you have a new med needing a prior authorization you could be like me waiting over a month for them to do nothing it's sad when you as a patient get your own insurance company involved in trying to call them just to get the prior authorization form faxed over to them
I began going to this practice in 2019 as my office was 2 buildings down from it. My care from the start has always been less than desirable, however for convenience sake, I continued to go. First, the phlebotomist is a sweet lady, but can’t stick a vein to save her life. She always ends up sticking the needle in and then begins wiggling the needle to “fish” for the vein. Second, Dr. McKeel couldn’t care less about her patients and the care they receive. She misdiagnosed me last year with low progesterone based on a blood test and began having myself, a healthy 28 year old woman, take hormonal supplements. When I questioned why my body stopped producing progesterone she essentially threw her hands up in the air and just told me to take the pills and it would fix it. When I sought a second opinion at Coastal Fertility with an endocrinologist there, she took one look at my lab work and explained how wrongly I had been diagnosed. Then today, I went in to be seen for a sinus infection and was refused proper care and prescription medication needed based the need of providing them with proof of a negative COVID test. Of course, they do not offer COVID testing there so I was relegated to a Walgreens or CVS, in which I couldn’t even get an appointment at today. Her basis of my COVID diagnosis was based on the fact that I presented with a fever and congestion. As if COVID is the the only virus that presents those symptoms. She barely looked at my ears and refused to look in my throat for examination. To top it all of, when I went back to question why I couldn’t get a round of Prednisone prescribed to help alleviate my issues, I overheard Tiffany and the nurse talking where Tiffany said sarcastically, “Sorry.” To which the nurse said, “I don’t think you are,” and Tiffany said, “Nope!” Completely unprofessional. Tiffany should be ashamed to call herself a doctor. Steer clear of this practice and this quack of a doctor.
I personally LOVED ms Tiffany! She spent an hour with me in the room going over all my symptoms and got blood tests done that multiple other drs disregarded ever doing. She got me 2 diagnoses and working on treatments and other testing plans. So grateful for her.
In trying to return calls...don’t waste your time. I tried FOUR TIMES...two separate numbers...spent 30+mins on hold and NO ONE EVER ANSWERED the phone system. At this point I’m happy to say we moved my Mother and she will no longer be going there.
New patient experience was good. The staff was attentive and friendly.
Dr.Averill is the best! Very compassionate and thorough.
I have went to this Family Dr for years and love the care they give me and my children. Tiffany Mckeel is the best!
Tiffany is the first doctor that i have came across that i like! She goes out of her way to take her time with you. She listens to everything you have to say and listens to ALL concerns! She takes her time as well! She goes above and beyond and has been there every step of the way! She is also fast at returning phone messages that i leave as well! I’ve never had a doc that returns messages that same day! Go see Tiffany, you won’t be disappointed!
Weight loss. She has been amazing for my journey to weight loss. I definitely recommend her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
