I would not recommend this practice to first-time parents. My child’s doctor, as well as the newborn clinic that this practice runs, missed not only a lip tie, but a tongue tie. We are now shelling out thousands of $ for speech because my child is over a year and a half behind developmentally. Our private speech therapist told us that this could have been prevented if the doctor had proper training (it’s not required, but recommended). I feel that the doctors should have the professionalism to disclose if they have had the training or not so that parents know to seek out additional opinions. Additionally, our doctor makes me feel uncomfortable and like I’m overreacting rather than using a professional bedside manner to explain things. I’m not a difficult person to work with- I feel like it’s my right to ask questions about things I don’t know a lot about to ensure the best care for my child. I’ve gotten pushed off and made to feel like an idiot for asking about alternative treatments or therapies for my son. I’m just trying to figure this whole mom thing out. 😔The office keeps switching billing services and has cancelled appointments, and then it becomes my responsibility to reschedule (this has happened twice). When they switched billing services, I was the one required to switch all of my information over. I’m not one to go online to complain, but I feel other families should know that this practice (Lexington Office) has somemajor opportunities for growth in the customer service department.The final straw for me was recently when my son had a 103 fever at 4pm on a Friday and they refused to see us (understandable) and the receptionist on the phone bluntly told me to “just go to urgent care”. When I asked which one because I didn’t know if they would see pediatric patients (again, I’m a first-time mom) she replied, “Uh they all see kids all the time. I don’t know, whatever is close to you.” I asked about after hours care and she bluntly told me again that it’s not open on Fridays and I should check the website for hours on Saturday. I just don’t think this is professional behavior. Maybe my expectations are too high. Maybe I’m a Karen. Either way, I feel called to let families know about our experience.We are in the process of switching practices.

We have been going to Palmetto Pediatrics for over 14 years. Dr. Dewar is our primary physician, but we have seen all 3 doctors in the Lexington office, and they are all great. They listen to you and it’s never a “rushed feeling” visit. After hour calls are called back in a timely manner. No complaints. Great practice.

We love Palmetto Pediatric. Our doctor is warm and caring. He listens to our concerns and has always provided the best care for my children. The staff are friendly and helpful .

We love Palmetto Pediatrics, we love our Dr. Head! The office is always very accommodating to our needs and we feel loved and cared for with every visit.

I have been taking my son to see Dr. Dewar for 7 years. He has never disappointed me. Any concerns I have, we address right away. And now I have a medically complex child, Sr. Dewar has went above and beyond. I appreciate everything he has done and will continue to do. The staff is always super friendly . Keep up the good work.

We love Palmetto Pediatrics Lake Murray!Dr.Shenoy is always very informative and listens. He is always on time and we never have to wait very long. The staff is always helpful and courteous.

Dr. Shenoy is amazing with my child and so patient. He explains everything to make sure both the parent and child understand. All of the staff members are very friendly and incredibly helpful.

Been seeing Dr Head since my son was born almost 13 years ago and couldn’t ask for a better pediatrician!!! She even cares about the rest of the family on top of the children.

My kids and I love the doctors, nurses and staff at Palmetto Pediatrics in Lexington. They are great with my kids and care about their patients. They always answer any questions we have and never seem like they’re rushing out the door to the next person. We have been going there for 11 years and don’t intend to find anywhere else anytime in the future. Thanks so much for the dedication to our family. We appreciate all you do to keep our kids healthy!
