Nice guy. But doesn’t listen. He pays more attention trying to dictate into his computer to get the files right then he does taking the time to listen to an issue and trying to figure out how to help.He doesn’t show any kind of sense of urgency my dad got diagnosed with dementia and they told me the diagnosis I have to call and set an appointment so that Dr. pestering could tell my dad what was going on and he didn’t even do a good job at that my dad walked out of there more confused than he was when he went in I am currently in the process of finding a new He doesn’t show any kind of sense of urgency my dad got diagnosed with dementia and they told me the diagnosis I have to call and set an appointment so that Dr. pestering could tell my dad what was going on and he didn’t even do a good job at that my dad walked out of there more confused than he was when he went in I am currently in the process of finding a new Doctor for my dad somebody that will actually try to help him with the issues that he’s got going on and listen.
My wife had been seen at this office for 6 years and had dealt with migraines. After being seen on a Wednesday by Sarah Norris and being told she may need a shot on Monday if she continued to have pain, Mark Pelstring sent us a message to go to the ER to be checked on Monday. He did not order tests for my wife. I am not sure why we stayed with Mark and the NP's so long when I look back. I told them I felt this was just laziness or incompetence for someone that did not want to actually practice medicine. I was very disappointed in Mark Pelstring.
Dr. Pelstring has taken very good care of my family for several years. Highly recommended for your PCP.

Been seeing dr. Pelstring for years, he is great! It blows my mind that, with however many patients he has, he still remembers personal info we discuss, such as change in employment, school, family, etc. he asks qbout these topics because he genuinely cares, not because it’s part of a questionnaire. He’s a good person and an amazing doctor. I’ve had a few issues in the past regarding insurance fees and he has done everything in his power to benefit me. Dr. Pelstring does invest in his patients!
My family doctor retired from his family practice and I went to Dr. Pelstring. With documented case history which was given, copied all my medical files, federally disabled with severe musculature and joint pain, reports from various experts over a 14 year period of time this doctor treated me as though I was a drug addict and administered an unauthorized blood work then lied and said he did not. He refused to help with medications that were needed for me including pain medications, referrals to a rheumatologist, and other medications that were prescribed. He has been reported to SC DEHC, Joint Commission, and the SC Medical Examiner's Board. He also refused to give service and would not allow me to see other doctors in the practice.
This doctor, after going to this practice for over ten years, 4x per year, gave an abusive drug test under false pretenses saying it was going to be a kidney function test. He also lied about the results 3X because no kidney test was done. He has been reported to SCDEHC, Joint Commission, and the Board of Medical Examiners. He also tried to trip me up by counting my pain medications and they had overages (more pills were in the bottle than had been taken). When his blood test and his counting failed he dismissed me from the practice no reason given. The organizations listed above are now investigating what he did. Upon being dismissed from the practice I was not given refills on the other needed medications like Plavix, Synthroid, etc. and he also did not give me a full months supply of the needed pain medications (two weeks worth). Bad attitude, immoral behavior when it came to the basics of care. After 10 visits he did not know what was in my case file. Can't treat people like this.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
