Chung Lee's Online Review Report Card

We saw Dr. Lee with MUSC (pulmonology) this morning and he was absolutely fantastic! Super knowledgeable and took so much time explaining everything about My little ones condition/lungs/asthma. So impressed and happy with his care! I personally know it’s a super hard decision trying to find the BEST doctor to care for our babies/kids; and I’m here to tell you that it doesn’t get better than Dr. Lee!!!

I was referred by a friend to see Dr. Lee. I was skeptical because the reviews on the web is not good. Especially, someone mentioned he is kind of rush. That’s true. It’s not only rush. It’s rude as well. He didn’t let me finish my questions and left. That was a physical appointment. I was trying to have a test order but never got the chance to request. I called later to ask test order and he asked me to make appointment again in order to get test order. I will NOT go back. They charged insurance company a lot of money already.

Very rude and abrupt doctor. He is difficult to understand and orders way too many expensive tests. Terrible.

I used to go to this facility until I kept getting charged $300 something for an office visit. After coming in to have Doctor Lee sign a doctor's form for a study abroad program, he would make me get bloodwork, urine tests, and thyroid ultrasounds (all out of house).. these were all without appointment of a physical (I wasn't getting prepared to leave.. it was a signature of "did the patient accurately fill out the initial form"). Typically, Dr. Lee will have you come in for one thing, then have you to do all this extra crap.. All of that extra came back clear (he "thought" I had something..). Instead, I tried to go to another physician within this complex for a sprained ankle(Kundapar(sp?) i Think?) . For a 5 minute office visit I got the exact same $300 something charge. The first charge they had claimed the charged was something to do with an overdue balance (insurance didn't get it or some bs), so that's why the bill was so high.. but the 2nd time it was the exact same price. Their accounts payable office called me and claimed they submitted the bill to my insurance.. but they couldn't tell me why a visit to another doctor came down to $17 from 600 after insurance... while theirs simple wasn't "covered". Now, if my insurance (BlueChoice Silver HSA) plan wasn't covered by you.. why would you tell me it was in the first place? [This review is for a visit from 2013-2014 visits]

I have been going to Dr. Lee for a couple of years. I have been satisfied with his care and knowledge. At times I feel a little rushed however he knows what he is doing and just moves along. It is a good idea to come with some personal notes because due to his pace, you may forget something. I fully recommend Dr. Lee.

Our whole family has been seeing Dr. Lee for more than 10 years, and he is absolutely the best doctor in town. He's thorough, efficient, polite and very very smart. He sees a lot of patients, so on some days he's running a bit late. I think with modern medicine, you just have to expect to wait, so it's really not a big deal to me. As a non-MD medical researcher, I really respect Dr. Lee for keeping up with the literature and adjusting his practice accordingly. That really speaks to his dedication to continuing education and makes me trust his diagnosis completely. If I had to list one complaint, it would be that new patients sometimes have a hard time understanding him. He does have an accent, and it takes a bit of getting used to. If you don't understand something, he will repeat it until you do. Otherwise, he is an excellent doctor.

After moving from New Jersey to Maryland I was dreading the task of finding a new doctor, since the one I had back home left very large shoes to fill. Thankfully I found this website. I had some reservations about Dr. Lee due to some comments here, but I was in a pinch and had to pick somebody. I'M SO GLAD I CHOSE DR. LEE. I look for a physician who a) cares and b) knows his/her stuff. I found Dr. Lee kind and caring as well as very knowledgeable. He was VERY thorough too - checked me for some things I had never been checked for before. Front desk staff is ok. In the back I saw an assistant (before the doc) and a nurse (in the middle of my visit) and both were very good. Only drawback is the time I had to wait, especially in the examination room. But I prepare for such things by bringing stuff with me to keep me busy, so it wasn't a big issue with me. I am very happy that I found this doctor and I RECOMMEND DR. LEE.

Very good advice. Put me on a simple diet and I lost 30 Lbs.

Dr. Lee is one of the finest physician's when it comes to correct diagnosis of a medical problem. He is very up to date on research in all areas. When I ask him a question he answers it throughly and looks me in the eye. He also documents all that you say, so as you talk, he WILL be looking at the computer. He is very gentle, sympathetic, and helpful. His diagnosis is always correct so far and I have had many medical problems. He is the first doctor to give me the correct medication that turned my life around to the positive. He is very, very intelligent, so he may not look you in the eyes as many who try to convince you they are smart by sheer will power. He is decisive and will offer you the top notch expertise of a National Institute of Health doctor without any puffery. . He calls me at home to tell me when test results are in his hands and talks to me about them. How many doctors do you know who actually call you? He really cares about his patients.

If you have Aetna insurance, be aware, Dr. Lee is NOT considered IN-NETWORK with Aetna. Their office will tell you that if you have "Beech Street" label on your card, you are covered. However, that's only have of the story. If you have Beech Street, that's considered out-of-network with Aetna; but, they are welling to take some discounts with Aetna. Therefore, you may be hit with a huge out-of-network deductible. Just be forwarned!
