She just seems tired and doesnt seem to care very much about what you are feeling or going through...
With my personal experience I wouldnt recommend her. I saw her for 3 years and was told that I had fibromyalgia which I accepted. But I didnt accept that it was just fibromyalgia. I felt like it was more and it turned out to be more. After she dismissed me as a patient in December of 2017 telling me that she didnt think she could do anything else for me and that I might just need to accept that it is only fibromyalgia. 2 weeks later comma after a CT scan. I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis.
There are important qualities I expect in a good doctor. Dr. Murphy unfortunately is missing the mark in all these areas. I not only expect my doctor to be very knowledgable in their field and the specific diseases they are treating but they MUST have excellent listening skills show being engaged with the patient and not ones computer empathy for their patients especially a Rheumatologist being current with changes in their field with regard to diagnosis treatment and management and not discounting what a patient tells you as their symptoms. Just because its not in a book does not mean its NOT related to their disease. Speaking specifically about rheumatoid arthritis it is a very very complex disease that does not present in each patient the same way which includes presentation onset and symptoms. Its a clinical diagnosis Medicine is not an exact science and is ever evolving. New discoveries all the time both in disease and treatments. What was considered the gold standard of treatment for rheumatoid arthritis 510 years ago is not exactly the same today. Again LISTENING to your patients is essential to practicing good and safe medicine. One last quality I need to mention about this provider is that she lacks confidence and it shows. A confident doctor does not get defensive when a patient asks questions. A patient especially with a newly diagnosed disease will need to ask many questions and their doctor should be prepared to answer them. If they dont know the answer then say so and end it with but Ill find out. A patient can tell if their doctor is unsure of themselves. This doesnt increase the patients confidence in them. This provider needs to reevaluate how she practices medicine and make significant changes if she wants to provide excellent and safe care to her patients. Office and nursing staff at this practice Low Country Rheumatology in the Charleston SC area are excellent They are helpful prompt courteous and professional.
Dr Murphey was very dismissive of all my symptoms dismissive of POSITIVE blood work that came back. She did not run the another test but assumed that is was a false positive and didnt do anything to be sure of it. She ran a simple CBC. Called me on the phone and told me not to bother coming in for a follow up. I have been dealing with issues for over 4 12 years but wasnt given the time of day to explain everything to her. The nurses there were on point at LOW COUNTRY RHEUMATOLOGY but as for her not so much. I have since pulled the report for my records and noticed that my blood work is still out of whack. CReactive proteins was about 4x higher than the normal range and WBC is still high. Her report on me was filled with errors. Everything that I explained to her and everything I have been feeling when it made its way in her report was filled with wrong dates wrong symptoms and was filled with clerical typos that is very unbecoming of an educated doctor. I feel like I wasted my time going there to visit with her and wasted insurance money. If she felt that the report was a false positive then she shouldve ran the same test to figure it out and not assume. You are dealing with peoples lives and health so to be dismissive and not accurate you put peoples lives in danger. You are getting paid to provide a service so it would behoove you to be the best you can be otherwise get out of the field. I will not be returning and have been very vocal within my place of business as to why they should not send anymore patients her way. To call me and tell me not to come in without providing me the results of my blood work or any type of explanation of whats going on with my health was unacceptable. I will be writing a letter to my insurance company as well as providing them with updated paperworkdiagnosis so that they can see the cost of what negligence has costed them. I will also be writing letter to the board with the same information. There is no excuse for it.... None

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
