Dr. Burke has been my doctor since he started in 1989. He has always been a good psychiatrist and a caring person. He is well known and respected. His son Peter Burke has now taken over his practice. I will miss him. and wish him well.

Dr. Burke is intelligent and he really does care about the well-being of his patients. Psychiatrists like him are hard to come by. I could recommend him a thousand times over... He is the best.

Dr. Burke turned my life around 100%. He got me on the right meds and I have been stable for 9-10 years now. The longest I have EVER been stable in my life. I trust him completely, and I take all of his advice. He has never steered me wrong. He is an excellent psychiatrist, and his receptionist Lisa is wonderful as well.

Dr. Burke is a humble, well meaning, intelligent psychiatrist who can see the bigger picture even when I can’t. I am sometimes annoyed that he doesn’t really listen to what I’m saying and that makes me feel not validated. However, I am thankful that he listens when it really matters. If you see him at Toldo as an inpatient he has very rude and terrible bedside manners, but I’m guessing that is because he sees almost every patient almost daily. I like Dr. Burke, I don’t 100% trust him, but he’s as good as it gets when it comes to psychiatrists in Windsor.

I came to Dr. Burke with severe cognitive issues related to mental illness. He would just brush this problem off as unimportant, even though I was suicidal on the inside because of it (which I would not say due to fear of being committed!). He found an antidepressant which fixed this problem. This then wore off and he wouldn't prescribe another medication! Was also rude to me for 'not waiting my turn', when it was *him* who screwed up whose turn it was... Decided to go to another doctor...

Sometimes we hear what we don't want to admit to. Dr Burke is gentle and caring and does not judge my behaviour. It is easy to speak with him, although sometimes I feel he is not focused on me during an appointment. Having seen him for nearly ten years, I consider him an important part of my life.
