I took my husband here because he had been throwing up and had severe stomach pain for two days. So I took him to the ER. The doctor was the worst. She wouldn’t listen to him about his concerns or even let him talk. He asked for pain medicine. He just couldn’t take the pain anymore. She was very rude and uncaring and acted like him being there was a bother to her. My husband has heart failure and kidney disease. Have never been treated so badly. Will never go back.
Recently spent 5 unplanned days at murrells inlet tidelands waccamaw hospital. No one wants to go to any hospital, but sometimes you have to, and want to because you need to. My experience was life saving and left me in awe of the nursing staff in ER, ICU and regular room. All were attentive, caring, professional, knowledgeable and capable. I am so thankful for the kindness of all the staff here (except for a few security officers who failed to have the compassion needed for worried, scared family members). The cleaning crew and food service folks were also real humans, caring for others.
My wife had to take my son here at 9:55pm last night (11/13) because he got sand in his eye earlier in the day and was complaining that it hurt. He fell asleep and then when we woke him up he said he couldn’t open his eyes. SCARY! My wife got to the emergency room and they were super friendly and helpful! They were seen almost right away! Our son scratched his eye right above his retina, so he will be ok! What a great experience! Idk how this hospital is rated so low!
AWESOME hospital!
❣THANK YOU TO DR. STOVER AND RN GILBERT FOR THE COMPASSION AND CARE in the ER, TO MY SISTER BATTLING STAGE 4 CANCER. You went above and beyond not only treating & explaining everything but took time to see how I/my Family was dealing. And to the EMT'S, Security & Registration Personnel you were all so kind & Helpful.THANK YOU TO ALL STAFF WORKING THROUGH THIS CRAZY TIME, YOU ARE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED❣
Dr. Johnson was fantastic. Understanding, helpful and knowledgeable. Your experience at this hospital is going to depend on which dr. you get.Dr. Johnson was EXCELLENT!!
Treated very well.Very professional staff.Let's face it nobody wants to be in the hospital but I got great care while I was there.
The only reason this "hospital" got one star is because i couldn't give them less. Their ER "doctors" are at best, clueless and at worst dangerous. Do yourself a favor, sit in the side of the road until you are healed or dead. You will get better care.
The officer at the emergency front desk was very rude and not helpful at all. Definitely not a good look having this guy work the front desk with his attitude and not at all welcoming. On top of all of that, we lost our first grandchild . However, when we first arrived the night before, the group of officers were excellent and very kind. People like him give officers a bad rep.
This is the second time in a few months we have had to come with really high fevers for my 18 month old. Dr. Ryan has helped us both times and is wonderful. We loved our new nurse tonight, sorry we never got your name with how busy we were with getting his fever down. And we always love Candice (sorry if I misspelled) for always making the best situation out of a worried mom. I gave birth to my son here and continue to bring him here with the wonderful staff. Thank you for all your hard work. It really makes a difference. Stay safe.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
