This Dr. became aggravated when I wanted to discuss further options other than surgery and what the mri results meant. His answer to me when I asked how many of these surgeries he's done was "thousands." I was handed a brochure . I then had to deal with the most rude (male )nurse that I have ever come in contact with. That's a whole other story. The MD was recommending two surgeries but never once laid a hand on me to perform any exam. You know he might be an excellent surgeon but I will never know because the 1st thing you need is trust and some semblence of care from a doctor and his staff, none of which I got.

Patiently waited nearly one hour for for him to come into the ex room. He was very arrogant and rude to me. I came to him because of serious pain in my lower back and sciatica. He said if well you may need a major surgery on the future or not. Just deal with the pain. I asked meds I should use and he said whatever my primary doctor will give me. I will never go to him again actually this has soured me against OrthoSC and I have used them for pain mgmt and my knee problems but honestly, Dr Massey is a major disappointment

Today my husband and I saw Dr Massey and to say the least …we felt so fortunate…My husband has followed Dr’s Orders to the tee since 2019 in our nearby area. Sadly no help was given. By “Googling” fine surgeons near me, Dr Massey’s name popped up! We immediately called and had to wait 2 months, but this was well worth it! He gave us “Hope” after further evaluation and tests, that he may be able to relieve my husband’s pain and help restore his quality of life! Our journey defines the meaning of “Not Giving Up”! Dr. Massey carefully listened to me as I discussed my fears of spinal stenosis worsening after experiencing it the past 20 years. Then he carefully laid out the options for dealing with it, whether nonsurgical or surgical. He did not rush our discussion and gave me a much clearer perspective as I go forward with hope and confidence.

Dr Massey is excellent. He actually listens to what the issue(s) are and responds accordingly with the best course of action while always having the best interest of the health of his patient. I Highly Recommend Dr Gene Massey to anyone with neck/spine issues. He is the Very Best!!!
