List of Mark Dean's Reviews
Run -- Don't Walk -- as far away from this office as you can. Dr (?) Mark Dean was the first optometrist I went to since moving to SC. He did my exam and sent me off with a prescription that was sooo far off from my current one that even the Optician making the lenses questioned it. I had to go back to him THREE TIMES -- YES. THREE TIMES -- and I still could not see as well as I knew I should. Unfortunately, because they had already paid him, my insurance company would not allow me to see a new optician for one year. My year is finally up. I found a great new guy, got new glasses, and can finally see better than I have for the past year. No more squinting or staring. No more eye fatigue. In my opinion, Dr. Mark Dean should not be licensed and the Socastee Eye Clinic should be shut down.
Huge shout out to Dr. Mark Dean and staff!! We were on vacation and they took the time in their already busy schedule to see my 18 month old nephew and they were all super good with him! And so glad we went as I knew we needed a prescription just by looking at him!! It has only been 24 hours and his eyes look so much better! Thank you again so much for making the visit so smooth!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
