List of Tidelands Health's Reviews
Worst experience ever with an MRI. The staff is rude and incompetent. Images are no longer supplied on a disk, but via a QR code. The images are very grainy through the web site where even my doctor could not decipher them. Staff could not figure out how to sign me up for online access to view my reports and hung up on me. This used to be a semi-decent facility until Tidelands took it over. Avoid at all costs.
Seem like nice, informative people, but they don't accept United Healthcare 🧐. They offer a self-pay option but their rate is comparatively higher than a few other providers in the Myrtle Beach area, making Tidelands a no-go. C'mon Tidelands, let's get it together. The U.S. medical sector is already far too expensive...please start working a little harder in the interest of the patient and a little less in pursuit of the mighty dollar. Accept more insurance, lower your costs.
I’m not able to use their services because they don’t accept United Healthcare insurance. Their self pay option is more expensive than my insurance option at another provider.
The staff is extremely polite and friendly from the girls at the front desk to the technician who did the ultrasound on my leg... I wish I remembered her name she was very nice and made the procedure easy and non stressful
The staff and service is absolutely terrific. I have had three different images done. Xrays, ultrasound and MRI. They are all so friendly and efficient. They do all they can to accommodate their patients. Unlike anywhere I have been. They write thorough reports to doctors. They also look over entire results. As in finding a possible problem in aorta when xraying back. I highly recommend and wouldn't think of going elsewhere.
No wait, nice office, TERRIFIC staff. Everything was on time and very efficient. Highly recommend them!
I should have researched costs! My MRI was in line with highest prices in the area. I discovered this after I had my tests. In addition, the staff gave a CD with my name and exams/date written on it--I did not know until I went for second opinion 2+ weeks later that I was given someone else's images--not even same exam. I should have been notified immediately (mistake had to be realized at first specialist appt) Who had my images?? Did this patient receive care that was appropriate I spoke to a supervisor, she provided new CD, told staff she would call me to clear up the issue. The follow up did not happen as promised. The supervisor did not even remember me when I called back 10 days later (If I had not initiated the call/I feel there would have been no follow up.) I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at Long Bay. I would not have made this review if I had been advised of the mistake right away. I am a retired RN, I will not return to this imaging center.
I have had multiple tests done here. I have to say my experiences have been quite pleasing from the ladies who schedule particularly Michelle, to those who have performed the ultra sounds, CAT scans and MRIs. I am treated with respect and they have always taken their time to be accurate. I don't feel herded in and out. Thank you for your thoroughness and kindness.
I had an MRI scheduled for my knee today. I am 24 weeks pregnant, but the hospital definitely recommended me to get this MRI cuz I can't walk or put any type of pressure on my knee. I was honestly really nervous to begin with, not nervous for me but for my little one and the lady who brought me to the machine made it 27397394 times worse. She said 'i know if this was me I would definitely wait' and 'well we have earplugs for you but unfortunately none for the baby inside of you so it can cause ear damage.' I called my mom, to get her opinion and she said it's all in Gods hands, he'll be with you and the baby. You need this done. Sooo I continued with the MRI. I was brought to the machine, still nervous and crying as they were locking my leg up. The other lady asked if I was okay.. I said I'm okay, I'm just nervous for my baby.. and she told me not to worry, lots of pregnant women get mris and nothing happens to their baby. (God bless her) Then the other lady goes, yep.... we just can't protect his ears. I was about to explode honestly. Was the worst experience only because of her making me so nervous. My next MRI will not be in that office!! My nerves are all over the place as it is, and that lady did not do what she should have done in my opinion
I was recommended to have a MRI of my wrist by my Dr. and called around to get the best rate. After speaking with several hospitals and Long Bay, I decided to go with Long Bay. When I called back to make my appointment, it was very easy to get in and wasn't a long wait like I anticipated. I was told to come in early to fill out forms and called the night before to answer a questionnaire. When I arrived, I was checked right in, filled out my forms and waited about 5 minutes. The MRI tech that assisted me was very calming, as I forgot to bring my anxiety meds for my claustrophobia. She explained the position and assured me that she would speak to me and keep me calm. After getting into position, she slowly entered me into the machine and making sure I was okay with each advance. After getting into the right place, she continued to check on me and make sure that I was doing okay- which really helped put me at ease. I eventually dozed off and the test was done before I knew it. Everyone was so nice and friendly and the equipment was very state of the art. Highly recommend this establishment for diagnostic testing!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
