Could not say enough great things about Dr. Martin and his staff. You will not be able to find a doctor who will care more about you and your baby. He listens, cares and takes time at each visit. Dr. Martin and his staff went above and beyond to make sure all questions, concerns and cares are addressed and talked through. Everyone has a smiling face and gets to know you personally. From the first appointment, my husband and I felt well cared for. Every staff member worked to make the birth experience all that we planned and hoped for. Hands down, the BEST ob/gyn practice..
Dr. Martin is the absolute best doctor, I’ve been going to this practice for over 6 years. I’ve had a ton of medical issues that he has caught even before other doctors. He delivered my baby about three months ago and went out of his way to make it the best experience after having lost a baby at 34 weeks. He never rushes you through the appointments he will answer every question and concern you have no matter how silly it is or how much time it takes. He makes you feel so comfortable and at home in his office. Just couldn’t be more thankful for my experience here. You will never find a better doctor than him!
I absolutely love visiting the office and staff at Dr. Martin’s! I have Laurie Hersey as my midwife and she is super sweet and knowledgeable. She always takes her time to go over any questions that I may have and doesn’t rush through my appointment! I honestly can’t wait to see her at my appointments. Dr. Martin is very reassuring and genuinely caring which can be sometimes rare to find in a male OBGYN but he is awesome. Also nurse Rebecca is always very friendly as well which helps ease any nervousness! So glad I am receiving OB care here, highly recommend.
Dr. Martin and staff are amazing!! They made my pregnancy and delivery stress free and easy. I can’t thank them enough!
Everyone from the receptionist to Dr Martin are great. I've been with Dr. Martin for 36 years and have recommended him alot. Thank you to all the staff.
I love this place. Doctors visits give me major anxiety due to past experiences with other physicians but I have never felt more at ease than I do here. Martha is the sweetest and most caring PA I have ever come into contact with. She calmed every nerve I had for my first Pap smear. I moved from Charleston to Charlotte in December and will continue to drive to Charleston whenever I need to be seen because I have never found a clinic with staff as friendly and patient as Dr. Martin’s.
I love the ladies and Dr.Martin! Been with him for 14 years!!
Dr. Martin and his team are the kindest, most professional practitioners we have ever worked with. We had the pleasure of having our 4th baby with Dr. Martin and his team and they were knowledgeable, caring, and attentive throughout our birthing journey. We highly recommend this wonderful team.
I felt like i was in a wonderful place the place was very clean and nice I been to dr Robinson on Ashley phosphate road his office is not neat or clean u felt he was so witch crafted doctor by dr.martin I felt good about him this was my first time seeing him and I feel comfortable and confident I would recommend him to other
Dr Martin was my knight in shining armor after multiple bad experiences with another OB/GYN. Dr Martin has done roughly 6 surgeries on me from a tubal ligation to a partial hysterectomy. I have never been as happy with a doctor who was caring AND professional as Dr Martin. Becki has been my P.A. for standard check ups and my heart hurts that she has retired, but she is so deserving. If Dr Martin was in surgery or unavailable Mrs Becki was. I’ve seen 5 gynecologists locally having issues with them all until Dr Martin. Thanks for the many many years of loyal care 💜
I appreciate Dr. Martin for the lap ablation he performed for me when I was initially diagnosed with Endometriosis/ Adenomyosis, but I do not appreciate the negative commentary that was written on my records by some of the women there (Rebecca Miller) , nor do I believe that this office has a lot of compassion for black women or people who suffer with crippling Endometriosis/Adenomyosis pain. They literally called me “overly dramatic” in my records (they had the AUDACITY to actually type that - completely insulting... I couldn't believe how ignorant & inconsiderate that was) I remember being prescribed an antidepressant once by Martha Green just because I was crying IN extreme DEEP SEATED PAIN and frustration from endometriosis, and the little concern they were showing, as well as BANDAID options they were giving. They also weren’t informative enough about the RISKS of taking birth control to treat Endometriosis either WHICH IS MALPRACTICE. When I chose to opt into the Lap they suggested I have immediately (emergency surgery was the language they used), it was an uninformed decision. He only removed the Endometriosis he could see which was understandable, however I don’t appreciate the fact that I wasn’t informed about all of my options (even outside of what he is qualified to do - in terms of ablation versus excision) Also, after I began to heal from that surgery, I noticed a lump (A bulge) on top of my belly button, and when I asked about it the nurse practitioner (Martha Green) just brushed it off and said it would go away on it’s own. That bulge is still there to this day. A good doctor who is passionate about his patients should inform the patient of ALL possibilities, and golden treatments for whatever they’re dealing with. He didn’t remove all of my rectovaginal endometriosis (which has been the most painful before and after surgery) and now I suffer with inordinate crippling pain because it has gotten way worse due to it never getting treated properly. Had they informed me of everything I needed to know (such as ablation versus excision), I wouldn’t be facing a more invasive surgery soon. Also they have ridiculous rules and regulations that do not always serve people in a positive way.I wanted to leave this here to provide perspective for any other black 20 something who is just trying to manage & live a normal life. I’d take my chances elsewhere, your quality of life matters more than anything. You want to be adequately helped.. NOT just picked for your coins & dismissed when you have LEGITIMATE concerns or can’t make a few appointments due to being unpredictably debilitated by a disease you didn’t ask for... or being dismissed from the practice because you are ultimately concerned about your health and want the best care possible. They literally told me they didn’t have my records when I first requested them, I had to tell the rep “my mother saw the records from surgery with her naked eye - you have them” then the woman placed me on a brief hold & finally got my records to me in the mail soon after. Chronically ill people don’t need a hard time when they’re just trying to manage & get help.Shoutout to all the endometriosis sufferers...especially women with crippling pain... who get hassled and dismissed for being late, for canceling, because their health prevents them & feel like jerks because of it. You’re not over dramatic, unreliable and “chronically noncompliant” - YOUR DISEASE IS.Shoutout to the doctors and practitioners who ACTUALLY care and DO EVERYTHING that they can (including being warm & positive) to help the patient instead of writing that their patient is overly dramatic on their progress note. I guess everyone else with crippling endometriosis is being overly dramatic too, right? The inept individual who put that on my record doesn't even deserve to be in the position she is in. I'm disgusted and traumatized by my experience here.I have since moved on to a better OBGYN, Endometriosis Specialists (out of state) & naturopathic doctors.Sayonara!
Highly recommend this office. Martha Green is awesome. Office staff is always friendly and helpful and the wait is never long. Since first visiting this office my "obgyn anxiety" has gone down immensely. Very welcoming and understanding.
For the past three years I have been seeing Martha Green PAC. She is awesome and has helped calm my obgyn anxiety tremendously. She is very easy to talk to and she explains things in a way that they are easy to understand. She also is very good about telling you your options while also giving her recommendation. Super thankful for the coupons they give when you have to get a certain med that insurance wont always cover. Or in my case, it helps so I dont have to charge as much to my HSA. All of the staff at Dr. James T Martins is always very friendly and so helpful. I recommend this office to anyone looking for a new place to try! I will continue to see Mrs. Martha for all of my future needs.

This is mostly in response to the person below. You do understand that this affects Dr. Martin too, right? Dr. Martin is lovely and has always made me feel comfortable. I have had a neutral experience with the front desk workers, but nothing to complain about. Truly just dont want that one review to discourage anyone from visiting. The doctor is the person that matters. And he is great!!
Dr. James Martin has performed two flawless surgeries on my wife, counseled us through infertility and has now delivered three beautiful boys(ages 4, 2, newborn). There are many great doctors in this world but I have yet to find one more in tune with the specific needs of his patients (and patient's spouse). He goes beyond the standard of care and has given us the best gift a physician can give any patient. That gift was and remains the gift of confidence in his guidance and wisdom.
They got a awesome team 👍🏾
Best office around!! I travel from Lexington SC just so I would have to change Doctors. I love the whole crew!
I seriously can’t say enough for the way Dr. Martin and his staff have made me feel comfortable and at home. He delivered both my boys! His staff has been amazing any time I’ve had to bring them in to the office with me! His nursing staff and office staff is absolutely amazing! There couldn’t be a better team!
Dr. Martin is an amazing doctor. I went to a different OB/GYN early in my pregnancy, and ended up changing because I felt like my concerns were not being addressed. Dr. Martins office addressed my concerns during my first appointment. I had a rather rough pregnancy and I always felt like I was in the best hands when I had an issue. I was really iffy about having a male OB/GYN, but I could not have made a better decision. If I was still in that area, I would still be seeing Dr. Martin.
