I really enjoy my appointments with Dr. Ian Gao. He is very personable and has an excellent bedside manner. He reassures me and is very positive about my treatment plan. I am highly satisfied and impressed with his knowledgeable feedback and the quality time he spends with me on each visit. After seeing two other orthopedic doctors right after my accident, Dr. Gao was the only one who involved me in making decisions about my goals for my medical plan.

I chose to see Dr Gao for my shoulder and knee pain because of his reviews and was not disappointed. He was professional and friendly and talked with me, not at me like other doctors I've seen in the past. His exam was thorough and not rushed. He explained my problems using my x-rays, MRI, and models in a way that I could understandand and made sure all of my questions were answered. I have definitely found an orthopaedist I'm going to keep.

Dr. Gao was my second opinion doctor as the first orthopedic doctor had told me knee replacement was my only option and my knee was bone on bone. On the first visit he did X-rays and gave me a cortisone shot. The cortisone shot was the easiest shot I’d ever had as he gave it to me while sitting! He also listened when I told him I had only experienced pain in the knee for several months and said the X-ray indicated I was not bone on bone. He thought an MRI to check for tears would be best which showed serious meniscus tears as we’d thought. He scoped the knee, and 3 weeks out I’m doing fine. Thanks Dr Gao for being so attentive and thoughtful! I believe you were the first doctor I’ve ever had to call and check on me the next day!
