Cane Bay Family Dentistry's Online Review Report Card

The office staff is worthless. They either working a scam or the office staff is stupid. They will not submit pre approval forms to insurance companies unless you force them. All they refer to is your copay. They cost me $382 because of their negligence. Under no circumstances should you believe the office staff. The actual dentist and assistants are wonderful. But never go there unless you want to be disappointed and have your hard earned money stolen by thieving office staff.

Horrible place. They do not guarantee their work. I had a crown fall off in a matter of months and they refused to stand behind their work. I should have known when the temporary crown fell apart on day one.

When we arrived to the area we picked this location because it was near. The basic visits we have there were good. Most of the staff are nice and professional. My wife needed/wanted inplants so we started the process. When it came to the crowns first they did not get the color correct...waited... Then they inserted them and gave my wife an overbite and spitting saliva when she talks and they are painful. These are some of the possibilities that were brought up before the whole process began. Cane Bay checked and said they could not do anything, go see the oral surgeon. The oral sugeon said the crowns could be cut out and replace or the whole process could be redone and to go back to Cane Bay. We did now we were given two options that do not seem reasonable to us. We asked for a refund and each time we asked the discuss was redirected. Now they are saying we could get a refund minus the lab work, doctor costs and get the crowns removed but they give us the crowns back after removal. The office director who seems to run the show does not show any emotion, like AI took over. I asked who is above her and she said she could not give out any contact. I asked if she was the top person and she said no, but could not give out any information. I asked if I could talk to someone above her and she said she could, not would, request someone to call us. I don't want this to end up a legal battle but I guess we might not have an option.

Being that I have severe dental anxiety I never would have imagined leaving a 5-star review to a dental office, but the dental hygienist that took care of me yesterday deserves the recognition. Bethany at cane bay family dentistry was phenomenal! She recognized my anxiety and took her time to talk to me throughout the entire cleaning, explain what she was doing throughout the appointment and was extremely gentle and patient! Although my heart was racing and tears were rolling down my face, she was able to make me feel the most comfortable and understood. I never in million years would have thought I would commend a dental hygienist, but Bethany is the best. I would follow her to any dental office as long as she could be my hygienist! Thank you, Bethany!

I had a bad experience at Cane Bay Dentistry. I was switching dentists from Azalea Dental because Azalea didn’t have availability that worked with my schedule. I put in a request to transfer my x rays from Azalea so they wouldn’t have to be retaken and recharged to my insurance at Cane Bay Dentistry. The first thing they wanted to do at Cane bay dentistry was take x rays. I explained that I had requested the x rays be transferred and that I had called their office and confirmed the transfer that morning (their office said they received the x-rays.) The dental assistant said this was a mistake and that there were two Katie’s on the schedule that day and they must have confused us. I had taken off work for the appointment and explained this to the dental assistant. She wears unempathetic and refused to provide a cleaning unless I got the x rays (which would have cost hundreds of dollars since I’d already had them previously.) I ended up just leaving.

Be certain to verify your dental insurance benefit before engaging this practice. The dentist, after knocking me loopy with shots, extracted a broken tooth, explaining that it was infected, then proceeded to destroy the crown on the adjacent molar and the grind down the tooth on the other side that after a day the temporary crown crumbled into pieces and the stitches in my gum came unloose leaving me with no ability to chew. She also did not prescribe antibiotics and now I have signs of infections that has gone into my sinuses, with an earache, sore neck and headache, all indicating an infection that has spread. If I live long enough to get this treated and teeth restored, I would not want to go back to these people. First, the clinic failed to verify coverage before performing destructive tooth prep leaving me with a balance exceeding $1000 that I don't have. And the front desk explained as I was staggering out that they'd not make another appointment before I paid. Unbelievable.

This office would be very convenient because I live in Cane Bay, but after two years of trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, I will be making the drive for a different group. I have had over 4 appointments rescheduled at the last minute because the Dentist was not available. I know life happens, but its rediculous that every appointment I have had over the last 2 years ends up with some type of scheduling problem for them. I also had to wait over 30 min with my 3 year old because they were running behind. I'll be going somewhere with a little more organization.

Worst place ever, staff keeps changing constantly, they cancel your appointments because they can’t keep any employees and don’t even know how to properly submit claims to insurance.

You all do not care about your patients. I have been waiting for over a week for a referral for a root canal. When I called the office and asked about my referral. No one showed empathy or even tried to help me. I was told to take my referral in. They never even told me who they referred it to. Then when I called the office they said they referred it to, they never got it. I called back and asked for the office manager and was told they don’t have one. Both people on the phone were rude, did not take ownership and did not show empathy. I want a call from the office manager.
