List of Sweetgrass Pediatrics's Reviews
Their phone system just hangs up on you no matter what line you select. I finally got someone on the phone and the receptionist refused to help, directing me to use the text service. I had a simple question that was time sensitive and didn’t have time to wait 3-5 days for a response on their text service. Thankfully there are other options in the area to go to that actually conduct customer service (can you be bad if you don’t do it at all?)
I took my child to be seen because he was losing his balance due to spontaneous nose bleeds and just because my child had a little congestion due to weather changes and a fever a week prior. They refused to see my child (A CHILD!!!!!😤😤). So I'm switching to another pediatric because my child could be facing some serious health issue and they didn't even give me a suggestion on what I should do until I could get another appointment
Today we had our first appointment at Sweetgrass and we will NOT be returning. They were recommended by a couple moms I know. However after today's horrible experience we will not be going back. We were not even able to complete my boys physicals. After already taking their vitals and answering all the typical questions we were asked to leave and reschedule because one of my sons coughed a couple times. The nurse wasn't even the one to bring it up to me, it was the "medical assistant". I tried to explain that my son has been struggling in the mornings with dryness and what seems to be something related to the change in weather, but he's perfectly fine during the day. This was an 8am appointment. She went back to her "supervisor" multiple times to justify us being kicked out for typical kid stuff. Don't you think the doctor should be the one to determine if my son is ACTUALLY sick. I wouldn't have brought him in to a wellness check if he had something contagious. They also refused to complete the physical for my other son who is also in perfect health. I never thought we would be forced to leave a doctor's office because a doctor refuses to care for my child for typical every day things.
Online scheduling service is horrible and trying to talk to anyone regarding issues is impossible. Requested shot records on numerous occasions and never received them via email like they said. There texting service for scheduling is also a joke and if you expect a call from an after hours nurse through there request line don't hold your breath it will never come.
We’ve seen Dr. Tripp for over a year. She as a pediatrician is great. However, my husband and I need to locate a new pediatric practice. Our last straw was when our 1 year old had her flu booster shot appointment while she also had a runny nose and horrible cough. My husband asked that I have her lungs listened to and make sure her cough hadn’t turned into something worse (bronchitis, pneumonia). When I asked the nurse who had given my daughter her flu booster shot, she said she’d ask her supervisor. She came back stating she wasn’t allowed since she was only a medical assistant (but had a stethoscope around her neck). When I referred to her stethoscope, she said an actual doctor would have to listen to my daughters lungs and that I’d have to make an additional appointment. Both the medical assistant and receptionist told me the same thing. I politely told both women that I figured while we were at the office we could have someone listen to her lungs, they both said we’d need to make another appointment. My daughter’s been up all night coughing & we’ve been searching online to make an appointment (earliest appt in Summerville & N Chas is two days away).
They are not punctual in any way shape or form! I had an appointment and didn't even get seen by the time I left an hour later. The purpose of an appointment, in my humble opinion, is lost to them!!! Do NOT go here if you schedule less than two hours time off from work or schedule all day off for a thirty minute appointment....likelihood is you won't get seen and they'll still get your money. P.s. the other locations are great, this one just got lost in the sauce I guess.
Horrible experience at this office! I drove an hour for my sons 6 month check up for immunizations after I waited weeks to get in. My husband and I were both covid negative and had proof and had been tested due to work well checks. My child had a runny nose with no symptoms of cough, fever, or other symptoms. I had a list of questions to ask the doctor regarding allergies for my child. They placed us in the exam room and the medical assistant left. The manager then came into the room without even looking at my child or taking his temperature and told us we would have to reschedule due to my kid having a runny nose and that he could not get the vaccines same day. The manager also told us the exam room was contaminated and they had to shut it down and not use it the rest of the day because of my son and I. My child had no exposure to covid whatsoever. Very unprofessional and horrible experience as a doctors facility.
Caution- this provider is making it's employees stand in a single file line every morning inside the building and use an oral (mouth) thermometer that is shared between ALL staff without being cleaned between each person using it and the greedy owner won't even provide gloves for each person while checking their own temp. Staff has had positive test results that management and owner try to keep secret and won't report to avoid losing money while jeopardizing worker safety and health along with their families and anyone else entering the facilities. Awful business practices being shown along with a company of so called "MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS" ignoring the guidelines and various federal laws established by the top medical professionals. Just proves that in our society business and money will always dictate the outcome over safety and well being.
Not a good pediatric group if you have a child with autism. They are extremely difficult about providing referrals. They never reccomend them. You have to do your own research and request referrals to any specialists if you have concerns for your child. At one time, my child was refeered to a place that doesn't even offer services where we live. They have prescribed medication and then not provided instruction for how much to give or how long he needed to stay on it. I followed the directions of the prescription which said to give it to him for 2 weeks only unless directed by a doctor to take longer. Just to be told a few months later that he was supposed to stay on the medicine for months, even though they never bothered to provide those instructions to me. They just said here is a prescription that might help. I have brought up food sensitivity issues and trying to get my child to eat more. The advice I was given was to ignore his food sensitivities, which are extremely common in autism, and just let him starve until he eats. Recently, I had a doctor be difficult and downright rude about simply providing my child a note that states he has autism before we went out of town. Apparently, that is a strange request that they have never received before. Over the years, it has been issue after issue when it comes to my son. I have another child that does not have autism and we haven't had any problems. This is not a good doctor's office if you have a child that has autism or is special in any other way. Find a better doctor that will care about your child and not treat them like a number. I'm looking for a new pediatriacian now, and I'm sure that getting his records transferred is going to be a chore, as well. The office staff seem to be unorganized, prepare to wait in the exam room for eternity, and don't expect a personable experience. DO NOT RECCOMEND!
Summerville locations and North Charleston. This place literally only cares about making money. Not the patients, their health or the parents and their sanity. My husband and I got concerned because my son sounded a little wheezy today and he's had a snotty nose. HE IS LITERALLY A WEEK OLD. I called them at 3:30 to see if this was normal. They sent me to a voicemail instead of having a nurse or receptionist speak with me. Then, they sent me a text saying they received my voicemail and someone would be back shortly. At 5, I finally got a text saying if he was wheezy I needed to call and try to get an appointment with them. So, I called and they tell me they don't have time to see my newborn. So, we ended up at the emergency room with newborn to make sure everything was okay. Luckily, he is fine but what if he hadn't been?? You're a doctor's office. Your job is to make time for your patients. Everyone swears this is what socialized medicine is like but we live in a capitalist economy and medicine is already like this??? I will not be returning after his "well check" tomorrow.Update: their manager called and apologized profusely. While we appreciated the gesture, it wasn't enough for us to want to stay.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
